Hey guys, just wondering if you could help me with a little debate regarding this special character.l One of kroq gar's special rules is that he stops his carnosaur getting the blood frenzy special rule - but isn't frenzy a good thing to have and why would i want to not have him with frenzy? //syn
I don't have my book in front of me so correct me if I am wrong, but I am pretty sure Grymloq already has 1 more attack than a regular Carnosaur. That gives him one of the benefits of Frenzy, but he doesn't go completely bonkers with chasing stuff. I still would make my own Oldblood though as I think the Blood Frenzy rule is pretty awesome. You don't have to worry about chaff puling your Carno out of the fight like a normal frenzied troop.
Although frenzy does provide an extra attack, the trouble with it is that it forces your model to charge if able. (Even if that charge needs boxcars) With a high movement creature like a carnosaur, the trouble is that this range is a tad bit larger than the typical model, allowing him to be pulled wide out in the open to be shot at by cannons, from being whatever cover you may have him behind, or out of your shooting shield from an engine of the gods.
Okay cheers guys, so it seems pretty sillyto take kroq gar over an old blood then really? As i just purchased one off ebay for less than half price I'm not sure how i would gear an oldblood on carnasaur compared to the magic items/rules that kroq gar have - Is he actually worth taking as his rules/stats are pretty shoddy for a 600 point figure. //syn
Yes, but you get Saurus Cav as a core choice! Or maybe I'm the only one that thinks Saurus Cav are the 2nd most valuable unit in the army?
