I have been playing a few games with my current list and i am liking my Kroxigor units, not to many lizard players in my area and those which have army mainly heavy saurus/ temple guard list.

So in essence most people seem to panick when i line up a unit of Krox against them.

Have any one fielded a Krox heavy/themes army, maximusing the special and Skrox units to get the most out of them.

Tempted to try a list with a couple of horde size Krox units skrox units some sallies, skirmishers and terradons but I was wondering if anyone has tried something like this?

I've always wanted to run an army like this. I only have 5 kroxigor though. :(

You'd have to fill out your core requirements with Skrox units which almost makes the krox invincible. I think 40 extra points per krox for all those benefits is a pretty good deal. You do lose stomp, though you gain the ability to shoot w/poison.

Stick the 250 point Lvl 2 Beast Skink Lord in there and I believe they become unbreakable and the Skinks gain hatred vs. Skaven.

Not to detract form the main subject, but there is some debate on attaching characters to Skrox units. You'll have to run it by your fellow warhammer enthusiasts to come up with a ruling. Sounds like a good idea though. Crown of command on a chief would be pretty good as well, if running a character with them is allowed.

In thinking about this a little more, you'd probably have to run regular Kroxigor as your anvil units to benefit from their toughness. Probably two units in 3x2 or 3x3 blocks. Skrox units will have to be reserved as hammers since they probably won't be able to hold their own due to the skinks dying off so fast, though they would stay steadfast much easier.

Man, I really need some more Kroxigor. I want to try this now, lol.

    Hello,
I once saw a Life Slann, EotG, 2x6 Krox and a 26skink+3Krox unit. It was brutal:) Or was it Light on the Slann, I can't remember, but it was brutal:)

Why would attaching Characters to Skrox be illegal?

Under 8th edition rules once you add a Kroxigor to a Skink Cohort, it's unit type goes from Infantry to Unique, and characters cannot join Unique units.

It was determined that that is not the case, you can always attach a character to a Skink unit KROX are just a Skink unit upgrade. There was a pretty thorough thread about this.

    just throwing it out there,

would a unit of 18 in 6*3 formation with a solo light slan baby sitting them be quite nasty- would have to be reserved for games of 3k + i would imagine

My tournament army includes 2x6 kroxes, a lone eteral light slan with 2x2 sallies, multiple skink and teradons unit's, with some 2x20 saurus, won me a few tournament's.

It work's, as long as you do not allow your opponent to charge your kroxes. With a lot of chaff you should be able to position them nicely. Pha's protect and speed of light will be golden. While birona will be the spell that your opponent will be trying to dispell.

Where in the rules does it say that, or is it just a widely held opinion?
