Thought this deserved a topic for itself. To those who havnt heard / seen this little fella. it was found in a Dark Elves box in france. It has been confirmed by Hastings on warseer to be real
maybe it's just the lighting/quality of the pic (or maybe I'm just broken), but I'm finding it difficult to get too excited about it (despite wanting to be more enthusiastic about it). Though it is an improvement over the current terradon head.
Oh boy, this is just the inspiration that I needed to start working on my terradon unit! Getting the putty ready in 3, 2, 1...
Thinking this over..I actually hate this in every single way. 1. a fear about this confirmation: please dont let this be the MC we have been promised -.- 2. A Coatl/Terradon dual-kit would disappoint me..I want the coatls to be phoenix sized. 3. I FREAKIN JUST GOT NEW TERRADONS
..then those LM-breeders needs to fill them with some serious protein-meat! I can already hear the Skullcrushers laughing :'(
As for MC being 'promised,' from what I've read it's all just been wish listing and speculations. I'm excited for this, as the main reason I don't have Terradon's is because of the current models... I use some really old poorly painted Birdmen of Catrazza
In regards to them being new MC. If they toss saurus warriors on top of them, I just want to make it abundantly clear that i CALLED IT! i fielded saurus warriors on Terradons back in 6th edition, since the statline lent itself to the str and attacks of a saurus, and the lower toughness could be explained by vulnerability from being up in the air Though it does look a lot better than terradons have of late, and It seems they are going for a more realistic approach over the "silly" looking terradons of the past years.
Nah, I like The current heads alot more. They look dangerous, vicious. This kind of just looks dull. But then again, I also prefer the Lizardmen Cold Ones over DE's Besides, I just bought Terradons. One of the torsos were missing though, and GW's customer support will not reply
Realistic? Really? It actually reminds me of the pterodactyl from Johnny Quest - "Not that there's anything wrong with that" O.k., not really, but looking at my reference book on flying dinosaurs I guess I have a hard time thinking the new GW Terradon head is realistic. I do like that I can add yet another species of terradon to my mixed units. Who is to say that all flyers in a terradon unit have to be from the same flock? Now, back to that Johnny Quest Hallmark ornament, in all seriousness, I have actually considered making a Terradon champion using that model. I think with the right paint job it could just work. Thoughts?
I said "more" realistic. And based on my experiences, its closer to what a pterodactyl would actually look like than the horrible beer-belly ones we have had lately. and even the 5th edition models which were fine, had a tendency towards round heads rather than elongated ones
I'm anxious to see the rest of the figure. Hard to tell from just the head what they will do with the belly, tail and wings. Hopefully it will look great
