Blog Legion of Xyotl Ouxa'klixz: The Old One's Swift Vengeance - BloodBowl Pics! Updated May 22nd.

Well, now that we have the ok to do so... i'll repost the pics of my Trog here. It took me forever, but I was fairly happy with how it turned out, though admittedly I got fed up with all the scales and skipped about 2 layers  What I failed to get in the pictures was the attempt I made at making some water streaks on the stone that is standing up...I was trying to make it look like that worn, greenish water staining you see on rocks that have had water running over them for awhile. it kinda sorta looked ok... lol. Anywho, here's some pics.

Thanks for stoppin by!

Also - Huge congratz to the winners and a humble vow of vengeance from me ;) I'll get better and put up more of a fight next year.

Excellent clean painting, bad luck you got to put up against our best painters :). Really love your bases!

Thanks I appreciate it!

I got 2 votes which is 2 more than I thought I'd ever get, so I'm pretty happy with that :D

I had 2 entries, sadly only one of them got a single vote. :(

The level of competition was really high, quite a few entries got no votes, you can only look at the ones you like most and practice and practice to get to that level ;). There´ll be more competitions to come :)

Nope, too many people are Way too far ahead of me in terms of talent,
I really only bothered entering this one because there was a raffle,
and I knew that was my only chance of winning anything. :shifty: - - - $$

Seriously, when did we start getting golden daemon level talent on this site all of a sudden. :(

ps. I have been practicing for a decade. :oldman:

The purple abd green here look so amazing together! I love the white feet, I want to call it /Socks"! The grey skink looks awesome! I think your base is brilliant! So much awesome going on here!

All that really matters is whether you are happy with your model when you finish. :)

I looked at the contest as motivation to paint a model I needed to paint for my current army, and the contest was just a side bonus to getting it done. But I'm with ya on the raffle. I figured that was my only shot as well :p

You and me both, I need to up my game for the next comp, change my style and the way I paint.

Alllllrighty...let's revive this dead thing! *zzzzzaaaaaap*

Can't believe it's been a year...sheesh. Time flies!

To get this thing rolling again, let's start with some blood bowl stuff I've been working on, and a couple snap shots of some games from the most recent league I played in! (post 1 of 2 due to pic limit)

Orc Team: The Blackrock Breakers

Custom Lizardmen team (with a Krox from starplayerminiatures): The Ixotyl Ironscales

Next on the block will be finishing the human team, building and painting a Grey Knights 40k army, and painting up those beautiful beautiful Woogity Krox! (There will be a smattering of conversion work, and lizardmen army painting as well, but I've mostly swapped to BB, 40K and SW:A until 9th age 2.0 hits)

Thanks all for stopping by! o7

WIP of Lizard team:

League Games!: (1 vs orcs, and 1 vs dirty wood elves)

Human team test model (WIP - needs dull coat and some basing still): Haven't come up with a name for this team yet.

Thanks all!

Hmm... I seem to be terrible with pictures...

Standby :confused::mad:

EDIT: There we go...pictures fixed (I think).

EDIT 2: Went back and fixed all the horribly over-sized pics from a year ago in the first couple pages ;)

EDIT 3: (last one i swear lol) - Link to Lizard team roster in its current state as it is about to redraft and head into season 2 of our league! I have enough to re-buy all my players and have about 40k left over. Lost in the final round of playoffs to a filthy high elf team that won by pure luck - came down to two rolls...one of which there was only 1 thing to roll on the kick off table that would keep me from auto winning...and of course I rolled it. The second being a 50/50 to receive in OT, which I of course lost. Nuffle is a jerk.

You have done an amazing job ! Love them !

Phenominally painted blood bowl minis! I really like the color schemes you have chosen for both your orcs and the lizardmen. The red-black scales works really well next to the blue uniforms, and that different Krox model from star player miniatures is pretty neat! Maybe some more pictures of him? I also like how you painted the saurus hero, he looks fantastic!

Also curious about this picture and the small unit-marker piece in the lower left-hand corner of the picture, how did you make it?

Thanks!:D I'll have to get some proper pictures taken with a lightbox in a couple weeks when I finally get some vacation time. As for the marker - it is actually a set of reroll and turn markers from star player miniatures where I got the Krox from. www.starplayershop.com

On the subject of the Krox, I'm tempted to replace him with a woogity Krox just because the saurus heroes are almost the same size . I originally intended to make all the saurus out of the carno riders, but i couldn't find 4 more anywhere :(

Thank you! I'm pretty happy with how they turned out!:D

Also don't mind the tiny black bear in the background of that pic :p
