So with the new book and an explosion of interest I am making my not so grand return to theorycrafting and mathhammering! One thing people really seem to be stuck on is the predatory attacks, debating their usefulness in a stratagey. One thing I think a lot of people have forgotten is that its free, Saurus are the same points cost, krox are cheaper as are our beloved Temple Guard. This ability is nothing but a net gain. I know even when I went up against Chaos warriors and the like I used my saurus as an anvil and relied on flanking my opponent to really do the damage. With PA being thrown in (possibly along with jungle swarms I dont know how I feel yet on them) on a unit of 6 wide Saurus you are looking at 24 attacks, 4 PA bonus attacks. Hitting say on 4+ thats 14 hits, wounding on 4+'s thats 7 wounds! Bear in mind that this is average case senario. Remembering that Scar Vets and Oldbloods have this too starts bringing some serious punch to a Saurus heavy list. With the hit to the slann I have seen a lot of tears shed. But skink priests utility based around a heavy close combat army has been expanded massively. Bringing light AND beasts on 2 fairly cheap boys is a sweet deal. Im in work just now so this is a fairly off the top of my head style post, just wanting to get back into it. I hope to do more here in an old community I have sorely missed. Leo
Very Cool stuff Leo, I'm super eager for the new edition. I only play Chaos Warriors and Dark Elves so it should be interesting change from our Slann Heavy ways. Ugh, I want my book to get here. Hah.
I live about 14 miles from my nearest GW, got a 8am bus on my only day off to go grab mine, and a bastildon to boot! I feel your pain, hope it wont be too long before you can sink your claws into it and make all of your friends hate you as much as mine do now!
