Hi all! I'm trying to come up with the cheesiest possible 2k list to have some serious laughs with my friends! Any suggestions?
Well, the difficulty is that the Lizardmen are a very balanced list that has difficulty cheesing it out to the max. For example, in the post above your army would get routed assuming that your opponent brings a heavy cav./monster army. While it is true that 6 salamanders will put you in a good place in your search for cheese, it is difficult for a Lizzie army to make an all-comers cheesy list. Lizardmen become cheesy when it comes to tailoring an army to deal with a specific opponent. The flexibility of the list means that we can field most kinds of armies (besides an effective heavy cav. or gun line army of course), and with sacred host lists this becomes especially true. For example, against opponents that field cheesy vampire count lists, I respond by taking a Tlazcotl or Tepok Sacred host. If I take Tlazcotl, i can meet the VC head on without havng to worry about Psych, and I field a Oldblood with the jaguar totem, and the Bane Head/Pirahna Blade combo so that I can kill the VC general with one wound off of a 18" charge. Tepok shuts down any opponents magic phase, and the lore of light is absolute cheese against the undead. But yeah, if your opponent is magic heavy just take Tepok and laugh away as you benefit from Khornite magic defense without the nasty side-effect of frenzy.
In the last ed I suppose a battery (skink priest) powered 2nd Gen Slann could be viewed as cheese. But I don't really believe in cheese as a concept, most cheesy lists usually have a big weakness
Agreed, and I personally prefer to see cheese as a challenge to be met. Anyway, for me the cheese factor is more of a way to get a good laugh in a friendly match than anything else
step 1: take a 2 Slann in one list, as well as a skink priest step 2: fill in the rest of your points with kroxies and skinks (but mostly skinks) step 3: if you have the points left over, take some salamanders step 4: watch your opponent weep
