Hello boys and girls and welcome to Let's Get Motivated - New Year's hobby resolution 2025 A happy and prosperous new year to all of you fellow wargamers!! This thread is to get us motivated this year into finishing the projects that we have committed to in our resolution, the rules are fairly simple. At the start of the year post what your hobby resolution, it can be models/terrain/conversions of any game type. No pressure if you don't finish anything this is for motivation nothing else. Around the middle of the year post your progress, no images please, if you have want to share your progress with images, upload them into your blog and supply a link. Around the end of the year post your progress, again no images, if you have finished a piece upload the images into your blog and supply a link. The reason I don't want images in this thread is too get everyone that takes part views in their personal blog where the community can critique, etc. You don't have a paint blog? well get one started in this forum section. If you need advice etc. post here and the community will try and answer. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone share their progress Grrr, !mrahil
This year will be similar to last, with just small adjustments. Flames of war points were too hard in comparision to other systems, so I lowered values a bit. "No new armies" rule got changed to "no new system", because I have so many different bits from so many armies that it might be difficult to keep track. Also, this year I really want to base those lizardmen. Paint point value of armies. Full points below, point variants for 100 point system in brackets. Idea is to paint single army for each hobby goal point, so I canĀ“t for example paint 2250 point of one army to scratch two goals. -750 (75) -1000 (100) -1500 (125) -Base lizardmen -Play 5 games -No new system -Finish Taunar Right now I think that favourites this year will be Bolt Action US and British forces, with Tau in close pursuit. Death Guard and Seraphon are massive forces already, so I'll probably just paint what I have at home and maybe something little to get to lowest bar. I would also like to continue on my Kharadron Overlords force this year, so we'll see how it goes.
I need to get at least 3000 points of my GoS project complete. Also I need to get my first successful 3D printed accessories for them. Mastering contrast paints to make painting quicker would be another goal. Finally, learning how to and then doing bases is the last.
My goals for this year are: MESBG: - finish my Gondor board - make one more Gondor building - paint all my Isengard models HOMM3: - paint the Dungeon faction - paint the Tower faction - paint the Fortress faction - paint the Rampart faction That would probably take me more than a year Grrr, !mrahil
I want to get a tabletop ready force of my Outland Legion this year, so that shall be my New Years Resolution. That means finishing up my saurus redcoats Convert some chameleon skinks to be dressed as the 95th Rifles Convert some regular skinks to be redcoat line infantry Assemble a bastiladon or two and put some mother-fluffing cannons in place of those shiny crystals that make them targets for greedy treasure hunters And maybe more.
They're going to be primarily fielded in AoS, but from time to time, using movement trays I might put them in the Old World
Lizardmen. I already have an Empire army specific for Old World gradually being built up (only need to get cavalry and that actually be ready to play), so the Legion will use the legacy faction lizardmen rules if I field them in The Old World. I have enough non converted lizards to pad out the numbers for the formations as well.
