Hello boys and girls and welcome to Let's Get Motivated - September 2021

This thread is too get us motivated each month into finishing projects that we have on the go, the rules are fairly simple.

At the start of the month post what you intend to try and finish this month, it can be models/terrain/conversions of any game type. No pressure if you don't finish anything this is for motivation nothing else.

Around the middle of the month post your progress, no images please, if you have want to share your progress with images, upload them into your blog and supply a link.

Around the end of the month post your progress, again no images, if you have finished a piece upload the images into your blog and supply a link.

The reason I don't want images in this thread is too get everyone that takes part views in their personal blog where the community can critique, etc.

You don't have a paint blog? well get one started in this forum section.

If you need advice etc. post here and the community will try and answer.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone share their progress

I aim to get a few basecoats done on my empire greatswords, paint my battle standard bearer, and paint two paper banners - one for said BST and one for the greatswords.

If I get some spare time I will remove paint from a warrior priest and start to paint him, and also try to sort out which colors I intend to use on my griffon.
 
In addition to my normal painting i'm introducing Ratty Roulette!
Every month I pick six models from varying game systems, give them a number between 1-6 and roll a dice. Whoever gets the roll gets added to the paint pile for the month.

For this month:
1 - Gimli
2 - Kharn the Betrayer
3 - Queek Headtaker (painted as Squeek Captain of the Council Guard)
4 - Boromir
5 - A Sister of Battle (painted as a random Order)
6 - A Necromancer

*Rolls dice*

And it's Kharn! What a nice guy!

A lot going on this month with work and Diablo 2 remaster which will absorb a lot of my free time, so I'll keep it simple and try to finish August's goal :(

Finish painting and base 20 chainrasps
Finish painting and base 20 bladegeists
Finish painting and base 3 sallies (painting done)
Paint and base dreadblade harrow (cancelled)
Build realmshaper engine (done)
 
And now for my own goals:

- having another game night of Battle Companies with my brother
- finish painting a Rivendell Knight
and
- get going painting on the mounted Gandalf the White

I will try and get some pictures at the end of the month.

Spirit Hosts I converted from some old Bretonnian Men-at-Arms with a few greenstuff repairs, a few limb swaps (including an old old skeleton champion head back when regiment boxes had metal command parts as extras.) I also drove myself partly insane(r) by making cobblestones for the bases out of plasticard.

Model of the month was fun to do as I got to experiment with different camo schemes.

Hopefully I should get the Chainrasps and Kharn done by the end of the month...talons crossed.

It's this time again isin't it?
Okay i feel like i did good, i managed to push forward some of my projects and caught up to date with posts here. I also assambled a skink priest that comes with steggadon, but that fella will be the main focus of this month
 
My goals were:
  • Prime all my built Star Wars models. DONE
  • Finish painting my Saurus Cowboy. DONE
  • Start painting some Temple Guard. Started, basecoat down on 40 TG.
  • Maybe build 2 units if Commando Droids. NOT DONE
A semi successful month. I wanted to make more progress on the TG but a small back injury and a death in the family prevented me from doing so. Not going to beat myself up too much.

Done! I’m particularly happy with how the fire on the bolas turned out, so maybe I’ll post pictures later.

I didn’t update this thread, but I also built a few Kruleboyz models (my eventual next painting project) and I’m close to finished building 5 Saurus Guard - I realized I should have a few to protect my beloved Kroak.
