Friends, Give me some help on this: 1. temple guards is good?! I think they sucks because their high cost points, i believe that a good strategic use of saurus with or without spawning, could substitute temple guard and have it a low cost point (comparing to TG)... 2. Skink with feathered cloack, worst it??? 3. How about those flying unit (i can´t remember the name, i think Terradons?!) I read here that most people like it, but to me its seems useless, since they have a medium-high cost, and die the same way as a saurus or skink, I really don´t believe in that armour save of +6 Again, very thanks for your help... Cheers, Marcos "Mordechai"
Being stubborn is great for a unit that has your huge point sink of a slann in it. Not to mention you can also get a magic banner. You'll kill more and die less with WS4 over that of the warriors WS3. It is a huge point sink, but it does come with its advantages. Probably comes down to personal preference. I guess there's this thing called a flying skink of doom. A skink chief with the cloak of feathers then give him an extra hand weapon and the blessing of sotek and now you have a guy who can scout with a 20" charge range that gets 5 strength 4 attacks at WS 4. Put him in a scouting unit ad on your turn 2 you can charge him out of the unit towards artillery on a hill and have a good chance of wiping it out. Best part is he costs like 120 points. Terradons live and die by their manuverability. The goal is to keep them out of harms way until you can get a charge in. Their hit and run ability is HUGE. If your opponent has a mage in the front ranks of a unit you can charge with these guys and should be able to line up 2 terradons to be able to attack his mage. They get 3 attacks each, so you can throw 6 attacks with strength 4 against his mage. You only need 2 to wound to kill the guy, which is actually not that hard to do verse most mages. After the fight you choose to use your hit and run and fall back. You might have lost a terradon to his attack backs, but who cares if you killed a mage. Even if you halfed his mage lost 2 terradons the points almost equal out still and maybe next turn you can hit and run to finish him off again.
Also on the Flying Skink of Doom, giving him the Bane Head can make for an interesting character hunter, or the Venom of the Firefly Frog if you're concerned with high toughness. If it wasn't 5 points too many, I'd suggest the Dagger of Sotek, but alas it wasn't meant to be. It's throwing in more points that could make the character's expendability a bit less, but it's just a suggestion.
A temple guard units is Great in protecting the fat toad! You can get bye with a unit of SW with the Itp spawning, but that's not even close in my book! Hell ya there expensive (With a sec gen Slann thats 1K you have got there!) I must say all tolled up tha't will be a 7 SCR stubbern, fearcausing unit...charge into that front if you would be so kind! Yes there is such a thing as a FSOD (flying skink of doom). Or as i like to call him Robin... The little helper of Batman (Scar-vet) That's what he does best. Help batman.....slay mages (a.k.a. kamikaze), slay warmachine crew, slay weaker other thingies (with it's str 5atk. sometimes even a lone character)..... It's an option to field a "sub-par" hero if you want to skip the magic phase, and add another combat character. Terradons are GREAT! Hit and Run..aka free "mage" attacks and break! but they are NOT made to take punches. You will have to manouver them....So the look angry at a flank, marchblock a crucial unit, or ready to jump on a warmachinecrew or mage.....When hit and running, thats 3 (x3 Donns) attacks on a unit or most of the times a single character...prefered mage! When you cannot do that 3 poison javs are nice!
Can't have banehead or venom of the firefly on a flying skink since that's 2 enchanted items; the cloak of feathers being the 1st enchanted item that gave him the ability to fly in the first place!
:: looks back in the book and smacks head :: Yep, my mistake. Could've sworn I doublechecked that before I posted. Nevermind. :: blends into the background again ::
