The Gold Sigil Sword and the Sword of the Hornet are almost the same (with I3 I'll strike after other ASF and won't be getting the reroll) and the Banehead gives me a decent chance to slaughter the enemy general-type. The Gambler's armor isn't as nice as the Armor of Fortune, but I'm hoping to kill the enemy champion before I get hit. 2250 Lord- Slann Mage-Priest- Plaque of Topek, Focused Rumination, The Becalming Cogitation, Battle-Standard Bearer Hero-Saurus Scar-Veteran- Gold Sigil Sword, Banehead, Gambler's Armor, Shield Hero- Skink Priest- Level Two, Ancient Stegadon with Engine of the Gods Core- Saurus Warriors (20)- Full Command Core- Saurus Warriors (20)- Full Command, Spears Core- Skink Skirmishers (11) Special- Temple Guard (20)- Full Command, Razor Standard Special- Chameleons (5) Special- Chameleons (5) Rare- Salamander Hunting Pack (1)- Extra Handler Rare- Salamander Hunting Pack (1)- Extra Handler Rare- Salamander Hunting Pack (1)- Extra Handler Total=2250 The Slann runs with Life. I'd be interested in dropping the BSB and the Level Two to nab the Cupped Hands and try Light as well. Then I could use Iceshard, the Engine, and Pha's to keep my blocks intact until I reach the enemy. --- I'll be playtesting the 1000 pointer on Saturday (maybe Friday). I'll either take a camera (to see my newly assembled grey horde in all its glory and make a full battle report) or just take notes to report back here (unless noone seems interested).
When two models with ASF attack each other, they strike simultaneously and neither side gets the re-roll.
You are correct. In the last edition did two models with ASF revert to comparing initiative or did I pull that out of thin air?
1000 list looks good. I'd definitely feel naked without the cupped hands in the big list. Bigger blocks of saurii would be better too. At this level I've seen blocks of 30-40 of troops. If this is a fun list as opposed to tournament it should be fine however. Whittle down their big blocks with the salamanders before going in.
Would Cupped Hands really be necessary with ToV? I do plan on switching things around to get the Hands when I experiment with Light and Shadow. I could drop a Salamander and a level from the Skink to make one the sword and board saurus a thirty man block.
