8th Ed. Lizardmen 2.5k - Swedish komp

    Trying out lizardmen for the first time, so trying to build an army that "might" work, but have no idea really.
    So will post here and gladly take some advice, and idea behind the whole list here is try to build without magic.

    -Ancient Stegadon

    Oxyotl 160 - Komp 4


    26 Saurus Warriors 316p - Komp 13
    -Full Command


    17 Skinks 91p - Komp 2
    -Musician

    17 Skinks 91p - Komp 2
    -Musician

    17 Skinks 91p - Komp 2
    -Musician

    11 Skinks 55p - Komp 2


    10 Chameleon Skinks 120p - komp 13


    10 Chameleon Skinks 120p - komp 22


    3 Salamander 225p - Komp 55

    No wiz in army: +5

    Points: 2500
    Komp 10.7

    So basic idea, general for monster hunting.
    Skink chief on stegadon for large reroll bubble and killing inf.
    Small skinks are diverters mainly, but can still shot.
    Cham skinks war machine hunters.
    Salamanders to destroy blocks off inf
    Razordons are just to fill komp and to support.

    Will this work, or am I looking at it all wrong?

    Interesting system for making balanced armies. I'm not entirely sure I understand it, but I believe I get the majority of it.

    Your list is rather untraditional. I would look into swapping most of those units of 17 Skinks with musicians out for Skirmishers. I see they are comped more, but there is a good reason for it. Either that or combine a couple units and get a couple Kroxigor to help them out.

    I kind of think Oxyotl is not a very good choice. He might add to the comp of your list, but I don't think he'll be worth it unless you get him to snipe an enemy wizard on turn 1. Let us know how he works out. :smug:

    Yeah, I was trying something that I don't see in every other army. Of course, there is a reason that most armies look like eachother. But there is no fun in just having no fun in playing around. Thats why my base in the army is really the 2 blocks of salamanders that will go and hunt enemy inf. Oxyotl is just as you said, to hunt lose wizards or snipe one in a group. But will take some time before I get a chance to test this army due to real life, but hope to try it out soon :)
    I'm trying to keep the skinks as they are, cause they will just be diverting stuff and be a shielding effect for salamanders.
