Hey all, I searched the net to get some inspiration for lizardmen arcane fulcrums, but cannot find anything interesting beyond the conventional temple/pillar/tree. I really want to play some great Storm of Magic games in the near future, but love to have an army-matching terrain piece from where my slann can cast some serious spells (the great leveler, anyone?) Thanks!
If I was going to make a Lizardmen themed Arcane Fulcrum, I'd probably start by putting together a step pyramid, something along the lines of the Mesoamerican style. Beyond that, I'd probably scour the Army Book for ideas like the pillars that have a Slann on top of them. Also, check out some of the older army books for ideas. Hope it helps, Padre
If you are good with crafting, make a troglodon sitting upright like an attentive dog. He can then balance the slann on his nose. If he is a good boy, he gets a treat! For a less silly idea, maybe build a large bronze snake pillar, similar to one of our standards, just bigger. I like the idea of a troglodon balancing the slann's palanquin on his nose like a seal, though. That would be amazing.
I think a vertically set statue would be ideal since temples look good but diverge substantially from the "tower" ideal of regular arcane fulcrums. The old sixth edition campaign book Lustria had how-to instructions to make blocky vertical snake statues. This is the closest facismile I can find to those statues on Google (and it won't get us in legal trouble because it's not official GW published work).
