I went to Games Day in Baltimore today. I had an absolute BLAST! I played in the BIG Warhammer game 2 of the 3 games that it took place. The Armies were Skaven vs Lizardmen! The first time that I played (2nd game of the day), I had to play as the rats. The rats won that round. I had to help the Lizardmen players that were fighting my unit (I had some plague censor bearers) and other units with the Lizardmen rules. It was awesome that they used our army for this. The second game that I played, the Lizardmen destroyed the skaven. I wanted to play in a spot that had a slann, old blood (on carnosaur), and salamanders. Alas, fate had me get a unit of saurus warriors and a unit of salamanders. The salamanders made a unit of rat ogres run as they charged due to stand and shoot. The funny thing is the only wounds that my salamanders took was from a warp fire cannon that blew up and the skinks that the salamanders ate (I had one handler left)! The game with so many people was very chaotic. Throw in the free stuff and it was amazing! Of course, I will not be able to speak for the next two days...But they would give stuff to the loudest persons. All in all, I came home with about $477.00 worth of models. These included a Dark Elf witch king on a dragon (the Lord) and a Skrag the slaughterer (ogre kingdoms-my second army) that I traded a box of HE dragon princes for. I really had a blast. I can see going to another Games day! Oh, Yea...The best thing that they had up there was a giant cannon that you had to name a target in the room and guess the range. If you hit, you got a really good blister pack, if you missed, you still got a blister pack. It was awesome.
Sounds like you're still glowing Glad to hear you had a great time, and even more so that lizardmen were throwing down some swift blows!
That was the problem with a game that size, the GW staff did not have time to answer questions from the 60 (roughly) people playing on each side of the battle. They only allowed two spells for the lizardmen (Comet of Cassandora and a +4 to strength spell). The GW guys were playing it fast and very loose. I was not aware that they had Frenzy.
