Okay so today at the club i arrived and went about looking for a game of fantasy 2 of my friends decided to make an alliance of Dark Elves and empire (1000pts each) Against My 2000 pt lizardmen list Here was teh List i Used and also bear in mind that the table was fairly small 1 Slann Mage Priest 2 Disciplines (+1 Power dice) and (take away any 6s rolled by enemy wizard) Cupped hands of the Old ones Bane Head Lore Of Fire 1 Skink Priest Lv2 Wizard Lore of Heavens Engine of the gods 1 Sauras Scar Vet Light Armour Shield Piranha Blade 20 Sauras warriors FC 12 Skink skirmishers 12 Skink Skirmishers 8 cold one riders FC 20 Temple Guard FC And There army was something along Empire : 1 Commander 30 Handgunners 10 Swordsmen 16 Spearmen 5 Pistoliers 5 Greatswords One Cannon 1 Hellstorm rocket battery 15 Flaggelents Dark Elves : 1 Sorceress 16 Crossbowmen 16 Crossbowmen 27 Black Ark Corsairs 1 Repeater Bolt thrower Turn 1 (Lizardmen) Both units of skink skirmishers on Left flank moved up and shot killing all the pistoliers and 3 swordsmen Cold one Knights moved up into position to charge crossbowmen Temple Guard moved Up beside cold one knights On right Flank Sauras and EOTG move up to deal with spearmen and corsairs Skink Priest Casts Comet of Cassandora with irrestible force and EOTG uses ability to gain 5+ ward save from ranged attacks , Slann also casts Conflagaration of doom killing 10 Crossbowmen and Fiery Blast killing all of teh Cannon Crew Turn 1 (DE and Empire ) Flaggelents move up to charge cold one knights Swordsmen fail a charge against skinks Handgunners shoot at skinks and roll badly killing 3 Greatswords move up to support flaggelents Rocket battery shoots at slann scatters 10 inches hits a sauras but fails to wound Crossbows shoot and kill one cold one knight 2 Temple Guard are killed by the combined firepower of repeater bolt thrower and crossbows All magic is dispelled by lizardmen Turn 2 ( Lizardmen) The Saughter Begins Comet hits home killing 6 handgunners 2 swordsmen and all the greatswords as well as 3 flaggelents Skinks move back from swordsmen and shoot killing everything but the commander and one guy Cold ones Charge the flaggelents wiping them all out and overunning into teh commander and swordsman killing them as well Temple guard and stegadon charge the crossbowmen killing them all temple guard overrun into crossbow crew and stegadon over runs of the table 20 Sauras with scar vet charge the spearmen and one combat by 7 winning and pursueing them of teh table From here on it was really just a matter of cleaning things up the stegadon and sauras came back onto the board charging the corsairs wiping the all out my scar vet kills the assasin in a challenge dealing out a total of 8 Wounds ! Another comet hit the handgunners killing 3 and they then got charged by the cold ones who bet them in combat In total I lost 1 Unit of skink skirmishers 5 skinks from another unit 1 cold one knight 3 temple guard and all that was left of the enemy army was the uncrewed rocket battery uncrewed bolt thrower and un crewed cannon So all in all a complete Massacre !!
WTF, your opponents units dwindled with every breeze fo wind, did you roll good, did they roll bad or did you just win by sheer tactics??
The Empire player was a Newbie ... and from player the DE player i knew he brought a lot of firepower the 5+ ward save from the EOTG helped A lot ! They didnt make a very good team being honest there plans went wrong the DE player thought teh spearmen would hold out long wnough for his corsairs to get me in the flank but as it turned out... they were useless but it was both the tactics and luck if i hadnt sent my cold ones to deal with flaggelents handgunners and swordsmen my whole flank would have collapsed in my opinion .. i think the empire had too much of everything in the list if there was maybe another cannon or 2 .. i would have been in some trouble
Yeah if they made a magic gunline(DE and Empire are the bestt in this), you would have been in trouble.
