So, I finally got some color schemes ideas and all, but i'm thinking of doing a theme with my army and i dont know what really, I wanted to do a "ruin restoration crew" but I noticed the idea was already taken :p so I decided to find something else...

I also though about doing a bunch of Skaven hunters, but its too cliché ;)

    any inspiration ideas?

Ohh tricky one I suck at thesse things..... and I usually just play to win. But some ideas maybe.

The first defence of the Jungle. Greedy men often come to plunder the riches hiding in the jungle, most men just find their death at the hands of skinks. Lots of skinks with lots of shrubbery, cool idea would be ranked skinks with a tree in middle and some of them climbing it, perched and shooting. Stuff like that. Try for the dense jungle look.

The eradication force. Some of the slanns are out on expedition trying to restate the order the Old Ones planned. Slann leading and lots of saurus warriors. Theme the bases with you'r usual oponents armys men dead, or armament. Simple stuff would be saurus marching over sheilds and stuff.

The two ones I can think off, never seen any one doing the tree perched skinks. Might have to do that one myself.

And for the case i misunderstood, sorry and ignore me :)

Picking a temple city is what I did. i took Tlaxxtlan, so there are moons on everything and the saurus shields are white. Another cool idea could be a legion that survived the skaven war; with pox and disease in ares of their body, led by Lord Nanahua, I think that is the Slaan who exiled himself. I also did some tribal paint on some skinks, alot like skeletal paint on voodoo priests.

Yea, i read a bit more of the history side in the book now (since I actually got the book very recently) I`m still pondering maybe using a ruined city as a theme, I was maybe thinking of using Pahuax, using some lost warriors or something, I like the whole ''City of Ash'' deal, at first I wanted to make them more of a swamp themed, very straight and average, but then again.... it`s not my style ;)

so yea, maybe using a very old city that got destroyed by chaos (from what I understood around the net thats what happened, please correct me if I'm wrong :p ) would make for some interesting ideas since my bf plays chaos heh, maybe a squatting skink priest found some old artifact in the pyramids around and woke stuff up. For some strange idea the whole "Ash" theme jumped in my face and shouted at me....

Since it's just a game, I can always have fun with it! (to hell with the purist who'll bitch and nag about sacrileges of actually playing with the words, they are, after all, magical creatures :p)

Might aim for a very "volcanic Ashes" colour schemes (dark grey/blueish and red maybe?)

I also like the idea that Pahuax doesn't (from what i can see, there isnt much info around, which for me is a "go green light" to make awesome stuff. I'm also reading a lot about aztec, maya , olmecs and toltecs for references as well)

so far my boyfriend seems to like that idea :p

i'm doing a builder's list. if you search the obscure records of 6th edition, or were around way back when, you'll find that the lizardmen set up camp on albion. that's were my army is. trying for the marsh with fog effect. just for the record, doing fog is HARD. :shamefullyembarrased:

There are some fantastic volcanic themed armies around, for example check out this guy's models:

    http://karsis.deviantart.com/gallery/#Warhammer

I am using the fiery red look just for the scales to make mine stand out, here:

Don't worry if something has been done before, even if it has you will enevitably put your own unique twist on it, and with the number of armies and models out there almost all colour combinations have been tried in some way or another. Theres even a hello kitty necron army...

Pick a theme that you really like the idea of and go with it. Certainly reading through the background of the book can provide good inspiration.

If you are going for a flesh...
Get one part of the following three colours--
    Dark Angels Green
    Golden Yellow
    Chaos Black

Comes out similar, but not exactly like camo/catachan style green.
Highlight by adding a greater percentage of golden yellow to the mix.
Finish with a HEAVILY watered down wash of the original mix.

For scales, up to you. I start them golden yellow (final highlight for the skin)* and go all the way to almost white-yellow. But thats DEFINATELY not for everyone. It looks mad disco. The green is just a real tasty base colour..thought i'd chuck it in as a suggestion.

    *I highlight a lot.

Haha the hello kitty thing made me consider a white and pink color themed LM army.
Not crazy enough to do it..... but maybe a future WoC army.....

You could do a Lustrian Coast army. Psuedo subtle pirate styles, with a hint at fighting Blood Dragon Vampire Counts (theres a badass Blood Dragon living on the 'Vampire Coast').

*Additional* Do a Cuban-Style Skink (down with the Slann oppressors) revolutionary army. Have Castro on a big ass palaquin with a cigar as your Slann (with Eotg-like magic-buffing gears to make it seem legitimate that he's a level 4, or put a Slann in a cage underneath him or somehting to that effect). Make Castro a white skink with a red crest. REMEMBER, HE MUST HAVE A BEARD!! Then have Che Guevara on a stegadon (skink chief) with that badass beret-hat thing he's got going. Lots of red flags and cigars. Work out how to write "Viva Fidel!!" in Lizarmen-speak, and plaster it all over the banners. Mean.

**Additional**Non-Lizard related** - The Vampire Coast list is one of the classiest themes for an actual VC army as well. Using the new (awesome) dark elf corsair models (modified, course) as skeles or even ghouls is a good way to start ;p.
