Ok so the new beastmen are definitely nasty. My first game against them was horrible because I tried using ranked skink units and skroxs without terradon riders. Second game was a lot closer and I ended up winning barely. He had the new jabberslith and giant. and the gorebull that had 4 wounds. Second game, I had 9 cold one cavalry with old blood and blade of realities which really helped a lot. had a unit of 20 skink skirmishers with blowpipes, 4 terradons, skink priest on engine that didnt do too much. I kind of feel ilke it would have been better just to make it an ancient stegadon although the extra dispel and power dice were nice.

    Any advice?

    ...eh?

from what i saw, the new beasts are pretty poor.

    bait the frenzied stuff

poison/magic the big stuff (none of them have ANY saves!)

saurus should be able to hold/beat most of thier CC units while you position your heavy hitters for counter charge. hell, with thier realitvely weak defensive stats (even souped up minos have T4 and little save), you can probably front charge them with stegs/CoC and mince them.

perhaps if you were more specific with what you struggled against?

Made it an ancient steg? it already is an ancient steg. Read the EoTG rules, priest may take an ancient steg w the EoTGs, you cant take that on a normal steg.

against beastmen, skink fighters are pretty much pointless. if a unit of gors with 2 hand weapons charges them, say bye-bye to your skink unit. also, a unit of 20 skirmishers is a bit large dont you think? i find that with the mobility of a beastmen army, smaller units of skirmishers work much better, and if the beasts do manage to catch them, then you wont lose all of your skirmishers. saurus (all types), kroxigors and any type of monster is good against the beasts (particularly salamanders for their panic tests).

    Good Luck!!!

I believe he meant a normal Ancient stegadon with the giant blowpipes instead of the EoTG. He says he would be giving up the extra dice from it.
