so next week I am going to play a 2000 or 2400 game against high elves and since I se some topic about high elves here I hoped some more expirenced players could help me.

so the most important thing i would like to know is:
when he picks lore of death my slann and other heroes will die easy and the purple sun kills all the saurus warriors (1I), what is the best way to stop this from happening?

On another note, you should take the skink chief with war spear on Stegadon. 2d6+1 impact hits destroys HE and thier ASF.

I agree 100% with this statement. I tried the Chief w/ Warspear on Steg in my last big 5k point game and he ate up 8 Chaos Knights on the charge and forced Archaon to flee in 1 round of combat. When Archaon rallied the next turn I took down the rest of the knights and put a wound to Archie himself.

    Totally worth the points.

I regularly play a HE player, make sure you have camo skinks to piss him off with. I managed to kill teclis and the unit he was with with 2 squads of 5 Camo skinks, all because he didnt see them as a threat. Also camo skinks can take out those painful bolt throwers to protect your steg on the way in.

Terradons would do fine too imo. But you'd get it done quicker with camo's. Whatever your aim is.

    Thing HE die to:
    1. Posioned darts.
    2. Acid spit.
    3. Falling rocks.
    4. Rampaging dinosaurs with magical spears.
    5. Being hit with a barbed stick repetedly.
    6. Magical beings dragging them down to the depths of oblivion.

If his mage is in a unit, drop a Dwellers Below on it.
The Feedback scroll / Bane head combo is excellent, works like a charm.

He has two very nasty units, Swordmasters and White Lions. Those units will tear shit up. His Phoenix guard are nice with the 4+ wardsave, but they wont destroy your units. The ASF together with rerolls (at a S5 or S6) is extremely nasty, even for your Saurus blocks. If he is running those units (which he probably will) use salamanders / magic / ranged attacks to kill off some of the models. It will really help out in combat.

All HE are T3. Which means they are very frail in prolonged combat, our sauri are very capable of leaving one hell of a dent in their elite units.

Swordmasters are sort of a glass cannon. They will tear through almost anything, but will take heavy casualties whilst doing so. The problem is this unit remains a very big threat even when down to just 5 elves.

White Lions are stubborn and have high strength attacks. Always a tough nut to crack. Also, they have a pretty good armour save vs shooting. So magic and, again, prolonged combat take their toll.
Problem is with this unit, killing blow+stubborn+S6 attacks. Yeah, really tough to get rid of them!

Spearmen are only scary vs skrox. Do NOT, I repeat: DO NOT engage with skinks!

RBT's are easy targets for terradons/chameleons. Chameleons are very good, as are terradons vs HE.

Their magic is pertty potent, as is their shooting with RBT's. Combat is only dangerous with characters, swordmasters and white lions.
Their characters give a nice boost to their units, but nothing our characters cannot stand up to.
