Ok, first battle report i've ever done . Its a 3000p game Lizardmen vs Orcs & Goblin with no special rules at all. The only funky terrain used is a sorcerous portal in the middle of the table. The Army lists: Lizardmen Lord Slann Mage Priest Rumination, Mystery, Becalming Bsb Cupped hands Standard of discipline lore of light Heroes lvl 1 Skink priest on Engine w/ Cube of darkness Skink chief in skrox regiment w/ lgt armor, burning blade, shield of the mirrored pool lvl 1 Skink priest w/ dispell scroll Skink chief on Terradon Core 30 saurus warriors w/ FC, spear 24 saurus warriors w/ FC, Hw/s 10 skink skirmishers 10 skink skirmishers skrox 24skinks 3 kroxigor w/ FC Special 20 Temple guard w/ Fc, Ironcurse Icon 3 Terradon riders 5 Chameleon skinks 5 Chameleon skinks Rare Salamander w/ extra handler Salamander w/ extra handler 2999p Orcs & Goblin Lord Grimgor Ironhide lvl 4 orc shaman, staff of bodom, Talisman of ward save 4+ Heroes 2 lvl 1 goblin shamans, sneaky stealing, dispell scroll Black orc bigboss, bsb Goblin bigboss, great weapon, spider banner Core 40 big uns with mork spirit totem, fc 40 goblins with netters, 3 fanatics, fc 16 orc arrer boys Rare 2 rock lobbas 3 spear chukkas 1 doom diver 2 giants Special 2 orc boar chariots 22 black orcs fc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EP5PYpAI9z4 Enjoy and discuss! I did plenty of wrongs in this game . And the dice goddess was not on my side that night...
Is it only the bsb that can have a magic standard? You can't use regular hero models with a magic standard from their magic points pool? If so i learned something new . Better inform that stupid orc .
Well some units do have an option to take a magic banner, but a charracter can only carry one if he's the BSB.
Thank you for that . Will remember for next time... no more spider banner \o/. He's to scared to have a goblin bsb .
I enjoyed the video; seemed like a great battle! I noticed a couple things that might help next time: It appeared that the saurus were attacking the black orcs in the flank, and the orcs were using their parry save. They should only be able to parry attacks made to their front. Also, did both the black orcs mentioned above, and the skinks/kroxigor that were flanked by the giant, try to reform after combat to face the enemy? Since in both cases they were steadfast, they could have tested on their unmodified leadership and most likely have gotten an advantage. I couldn't tell if they tried and failed from the video.
Thank you for the advice! Actually that was the front of th Big'uns you're referring to i suppose since black orcs fought with temple guard and used great weapon . He had 5 wide 8 deep pack of big'uns. As for the skink kroxigors... Can i reform after combat even if i lose that combat? I thought you only got to do a combat reform when you actually win combat... Edit: checked it out apparently i can . Problem though, RAW says that: "a combat reform cannot be used to get a model out of base contact with the enemy if it was in contact before the reform was made... The model can be in contact with a different enemy at the end of the reform if you wish" ggg ggg ggg ggg xxxxx xxkkx xxkkx xxkkx xxkkx xxxxx There is the diagram for the giant charging skink kroxigor group. Now as i read the rules its impossible to reform from the flank cause the 3 skinks in contact with the giant will not be in contact anymore if i reform to the front... Am i reading it right? Page 55
As long as you still have as many skinks or more in base contact after the reform, you should be fine just pivoting the unit around. If the opponent wants to be a pest about it, just make sure those particular three skink models are the ones contacting the giant, and you should be fine. Game play wise, it doesn't make any difference, so no one should really have any objections. I think what they're trying to avoid is a reform being used to sneak a character out of combat, or to make it so your opponent has less models that can fight. Maybe Hoverboy has some thoughts on this if he's still reading.
Wow im flaterred Ok lets see, seems to me that if the pponent wants to be an asshat you can just take the unit aside from the 3 skinks and then rotate it in a way that them skinks can take the slots of 3 other identical skinks, or against an opponent with his head out of his rectum you just rotate the unit as Gor-rok said.
Oh nice nice! It was not my opponent that said anything like that, we just didn't know that you could make a combat reform unless you won that particular combat . But now i do! Flanks are not as dangerous anymore in my mind . New game on monday, was the battle report any fun to watch? If it was, i'll make another . And maybe one versus high elves.
Thanks Hoverboy, it's always good to have a different perspective on some of theses rules I definitely enjoyed the video, Idura, and liked how you cut to the end of the player's turn and explained what had happened, instead of making us watch part of every phase of the game. I'm looking forward to the next one!
Surely you should make another video/report! It was fun to watch and a good report to boot. The Hunted
