7th Ed. Lizardmen vs WoC

So my list was very combat and magic focused; i had a slann, an EotG, another priest, temple guard, saurus, etc.
I got the first turn and i was very excited to melt some knights with spirit of the forge because i chose the lore of metal. I had choosen the discipline that lets you add a free dice to every casting roll and so i rolled two dice to start with. I rolled a 6 and a 1. I was excited because there was a possibility of irresistable force but also a miscast. As i rolled the free dice it landed on 1. I was just thinking to myself "Great, lets see what happens" so i rolled for the miscast result. To my misfortune the dice came up as double 1's.
My slann and half of his unit of temple guard were sucked into the realm of chaos. 600 points gone in the first turn.
That was the last time i will run a slann without giving it soul of stone.

Yeah, cupped hands can work pretty well too. Sure, 1 out of 6 times it doesn't catch the miscast but the rest of the time it flings it in your opponents face. You can also roll before you decide to pass it. So, I don't know if he was taking casters, but it's pretty satisfying to pass off a double 1 on his lvl 4.

I totally forgot about cupped hands of the old ones. That is a really good idea. I will try that out next time. Thanks!

Yeah... in my opinion cupped hands is much better than soul of stone... Of course, you can use the soul of stone every time you miscast but you suffer the effects every time as well.
