Hey. My gaming group plays at 1600 and 2400 depending on time so i've been working on my 1600 point list for a while now...Think i'm happy with it and its played well so far so thought i'd share it and see if anyone else plays something similar or would do anything different. Oldblood, CO, Dragonbane Gem, Charmed Shield, Gold Sigil Sword and Potion of Strength Gor-Rok Skink Priest, Level 2 Beasts with Dispel Scroll and Ruby Ring 26 Saurus Warriors with Hw&S, Full Command 12 Skirmishers with Javelin and Shield 3 Terradons Basildon Salamander Hunting Pack, Razordon Hunting Pack, Ancient Stegadon with Sharpened Horns So far this list has faced Dark Elves with twin Hydra's, Chaos Warriors With Nurgle Demon Prince, Brettonians, Wood Elves and Skaven and has either won or drawn all.
I like the list. It's very versatile for 1600pts and Gor-Rok is a strong support for your main Saurus block. Magic is sufficiant with scroll and ruby ring. Not sure if Heaven wouldnt work better though.. what spells are you usually aiming for? Hows the Razordon performing?
Hey, Thanks for the reply. Between the 2 Spells, Ruby Ring and bastiladon Theres plenty of magic offence and as two of those are bound I can keep casting even if the Level 2 fails and have the option of trying to throw multiple spells even at very low winds of magic rolls. I's still not convinced on Lore choice by having Wysans ensures that my Anvil is really hard to shift and can take care of itself and also can buff up the Stegs impact hits against things like steam tanks. For the other spell i'm always hoping for the curse as its ability to help with the movement phase and to hurt high armour value units is invaluable to this army. If I was going for Heavens i know id want some of the ranged damage but I wonder about only having a level 2 to cast with and unlike beasts I wouldn't get the reduction to casting values for most of my spells. Razordon has proved excellent as a chaff clearer and re-director. Quick to fire with the re-roll for stand and shoot artillery dice means he's always done a job for me and he can take on most chaff units on his own. Stick him on a flank and stop those fast cav getting behind my lines or use him to take out the enemy redirectors.
