Has anyone bought any of the gw carry cases for lizards? I'm considering them but I'm worried our larger models like temple guard or spear wielding saurus will not fit...

not sure where else these post to apart from uk, but they have customisable cases here:

    http://www.krmulticase.co.uk/

still not perfect, but fits better than GW cases imo.

Yeah, I've got a GW carrying case and the models need to be carefully placed and/or the spaces need to be widened by a half inch to allow for the saurii tails. I'm thinking it might be best to get something different, like a fishing tackle box with adjustable sections. Throw in some soft stuff and its a better case all round, things actually fit you can fit more and stuff won't have pressure on some delicate areas.
On the plus side you can get three skinks per slot.

I have a GW carry case, and my Lizardmen fit alright... Spear Saurus are alright - you put them in tail first into the sides, then the spear rests on the foam around the edge.

The tail kind of goes inside the foam, and the spear rests on top of the foam at the top of the slot.

    Hope that helps...

Edit: The diagram kind of got messed up when I submitted the post - hope the worded description is good enough.

Thanks - I've sent them an email inquiring, this is exactly what I've been looking for.

Just in case anyone else is in the same situation I've just bought a double case from http://www.krmulticase.co.uk.

It arrived VERY quickly (UK delivery) and is good quality. You will need the larger trays (N rather than M I believe) for the saurus warriors and temple guard (which are still tight), skinks are generally ok in smaller ones. I did get a terradon and slann chair in one of the customisable slabs with space to expand it to include my salamanders.

If anyone wants photos of how they fit let me know.

    Hi

I'm sorry for the ridiculously slow reply - life has been rather hectic. I hope these help:

    DSCF5004.jpg
Mostly temple guard, scar vet/old blood in there

    DSCF5002.jpg
Skinks (with some chiefs/priests and a slann for good measure)

    DSCF5001.jpg
Saurus (spears - the hand weapons were blurred but you get the idea)

Those appear to be about s big a the GW sized foam.
Which, by the way, I use, and love.
2 Skninks to a segment (I hear someone got 3 o.o) and a Saurus per is pretty good, in my opinion.
That said, my army is still really small, and I havn't got anything like Sallie to try and it in.
Though, my steg fits fine... Though you have to remove a few squares for it.

As I have the skinks in the smaller sizes (the ones actually recommended for lizards I find them a tight fit - I'm paranoid about breaking javelins/crests.

They Seem to work for most of my models, I added some packing foam into the contaoners with some
of the more fragile metal models, I may have to find a big chunk of that so I can replace 2 trays
the big carrier to fit in a stegadon or two... Just can't seen to get the banners to fit in as is.

I used to use a large toolbox for my bret army, I just found they were getting too battered so I opted for foam.
