Theres a mordheim league starting next week at my store, and ive never seen or played mordheim, although a guy did show me his kislev list, and i read through the rules, so here is a list i came up w/. Heroes : skink priest w/ shield and axe - 70 Henchmen : 4 saurus w/ shields and swords : 220 7 skink braves w/ javelins : 210 Total : 500 warband size : 12 any tips? is it legal? unit sizes? thanks
It may depend on your group, but I believe you can purchase bows fro any type of character with a BS. I would give the skink priest a bow. I would also take one Saurus hero. The heroes will be harder to purchas later on if you need them. Another thought is the kroxigor. I found that if you want a kroxigor (because they are very expensive), you should work it in early (at the beginning). However, it will be harder to play a list with a Kroxigor in it. On the flip side, with the saurus that you have, it will only be a matter of time before one of the saurus gets upgraded to a hero (which also applies to the skinks), so you have the makings of a strong warband. Whenever possible, give your skinks ropes. That will allow them to reroll their climbing, jumping tests. Bolas are also very helpful for skinks. Hope this helps.
Don't know if this matters but we are Using dif terrain rules because we don't have barely any city terrain, I'm thinking this will make climbing almost a non factor, also I'm not aureus this is true but javelin skinks look crazy overpowered if used right, unfortunately it is strict WYSIWYG, and o won't have time to make bows from scratch, thanks
You absolutely have to max out your starting heroes. Lizardmen are already at a disadvantage since you can only bring 4 (most warbands get 5, some get 6), so don't handicap yourself further. Heroes are important since they are the ones who generate income. Also, run your henchmen as groups of one to increase the chance of one of them getting Lad's Got Talent since that is your only way of going above 4 heroes.
Yes, you can take the shield and bow and use them both. Anton is correct as well. You only generate income by the number of heroes you have that survive the fight (any taken out of the game do not roll for income). In my first Lizardmen band, I started with a shaman, a skink chief, and a Saurus hero. Then I had 4 skinks and 3 or 4 saurus (do not remember exactly).
Also, I couldn't find this rule but can you flee a charge in Mordheim? Also, is there line of sight needed to charge? ( I.e. If my skink is standing behind him)Also javelins say they are 10gc near the top but they say they are 5 in the javelins description, which is it?
