    Hiya peeps.
In about 2 weeks ill be playing in the fuull tilt tournament in belgium. It already has 140 players as we speak. From what i saw on the website, theres alot of vampire and daemons generals coming. ( weird hu? )

At any rate, heres what im planning to fieldL:

Slann, 2th gen, dominion, tepok, diadem

priest, lvl2, cube of darkness, mark of the old ones

priest, lvl2, rod of the storm

    10 skinks, blowpipes
    10 skinks, blowpipes
    11 skinks, blowpipes, scouts

    4kroxigors
6 saurus cavalry, banner, huanchi's blessed totem
    3 terradons
    3 terradons

    3 salamanders

Its pretty much my basic setup wich works fine most of the time. I stopped using the jaguar since it got killed by unbreakable units, dragons, and daemons with always strike first and all kind of that stuff.. He just doesnt do the job good enough anymore. :p and 2 skink priests are pretty neat.

Skinks for filling the core, and shoot up those darn greater daemons. Salamanders eat almost everything. My favorite unit in the LM army so they had to come. Kroxigors for the nececairy shock and last but not elast the cavalry. With the banner there great for capturing flanks and pinning units down for a nice impact from the kroxigors.

Only thing im not sure about is the terradons. I could erase them both and take another 3 kroxigors, though missle troops are terrible against me.. Not yet decided.

    CC? :p

I think the list could work fine, the terradons could prove quite effective against casters and artillary, and don't forget the can work great as march blockers, and then there is the whole hit and flee thing also. I think you have a good magic list that should do some damage, biggest problem you willl likely encounter are heavy armored units. But the slann can take care of that. Good Luck

    @ gannon,

nope mate, im dutch. But i often play in Belgium.
    It's the full tilt tournament.

    http://www.de-witte-ridder.be/

for more info :p Very big, i think it's the second biggers from the benelux ;)

    @ Craken

Yeah i decided to keep the birdies. There great indeed and with a gunline-like list like mine march blocking is very valuable.

Ill test the list this saturday and post the outcome ;)

Well I know the Tourney scene abit.

Last time I checked VC, DE,DC are very common enemies.

I see a lack of killing etheral... Id be pretty pissed if my Kroxigors were killed by some Banshees ( I think there ethereal?)

Also there will be that Dragon list somewere there. pack up something that pack a punch.

I'd heavily suggest a JSoD, great for killing those important characters like BSB's, lvl 4 wizards, and with some armies even the fighter Lords.

The trick with the banshee's is to get them in CC asap, you can beat them in combat res, so you just need to make sure you outnumber them, and they don't wound you. Preferably you outnumber them with a unit that has a stanard and then you get a rear attack on them. Or the best thing to do is kill them with magic. They have no armor and are only T3.

Hmm i'm thinking about rushing the jaguar in anyways. Only because it's his last time he can shine on a tournament :p Dropping the skink with the staff and 1 saurus cold one rider will give me enough points to do so.

Hard to deal with ethereals? hello? I'm playing a second generation slann mage here. There wont be any problem handeling those.

    Edit :
scar vet, great weapon, shield, sotec, quetzl, charm of the jaguar, aura of quetzl @ 178 points if i remember correct.

Opting for aura of quetzl instead of glyph necklace, because of my bad experiances with large targets lately :p

Yeah, sounds good. Just watch out for HE and DE Bolt Throwers, they're the only reason I take the Glyph Necklace instead of the Aura of Quetzl.

As promised, I'dd post the outcome.

2 Draws agains 2 vampire players. We'll thats good enough for me already :p

The first list was something like this:
    vampire lord
    waight bsb
    vamprie bla
    vampire bla

3 units of ghouls about 10-15 strong each
    20 graveguard
    varghulf
    2X5 wolves

It went pretty good. I shot down the varghulf pretty fast. ( 2 turns :D ) and the wolves were eaten within no time by my terradons. Wit no more fast and sharp unit, i went to play the lame side. I ran and shot as hard as a could. Darn that graveguard unit is hard to kill.. I eventualy got it down to 3 moddels thanks to fire from salamanders and the slann ignoring the regeneration banner the BSB was weilding. To bad i didnt got the unit down totaly. I try'd charging it when it got so darn low but i failed my stupidity in turn 6...

Second list looked a bit faster, but still more of the same.

    Lord
    Vampire
    Vampire bsb

    2X 25 ghouls
    1 unit wolves
    20 graveguard
unit ethereals with the tomb banshee ( forgot name )
    corpse cart
    and some fell bats

I opted for a quick kill on the ethereals because they could be a problem. Also the corpse cart had to die fast bacause i dont like it medling with my casting attempts :p

It pretty much went the same. I blasted the ethereals very fast and the corpse cart exploded after only 1 spell! :p
I charged the wolves, killed all of em, and overan in the bats. For some reason my terradons didnt like those.. i didnt make a single wound... Ah well to bad. Hit and run made sure there wasnt a real problem.

Further it was again the same. I blasted the hell out of teh graveguard bunker wich didnt go very well. I hate the fact vampires can raise everytime.. AGain, when it got low, i wanted to go in for the kill. Again! my stupidy left me this turn... I mean.. comon.. LD 8 cold blooded and i fail it twice in a crucial turn.. Ah well.. in the end again a few grave guard with a lord and bsb were standing and some ghouls ehre and there.

2 draws isn't that bad, and if i make it in the tournamen im more than happy with draws agains vampire players :p

( Quick note, the last battle of the day, i managed to kill a cblack dragon and a manticore with my slann in the same turn =D )

Very well done! Vampire are not a nice army, so two draws in a row is excellent execution of strategy. Very well done indeed.

    thanks for the kind words.

I forgot to mention.. Drain magic is a gamebreaker against a vampire lord! Let's see him raise dead when his 1,2,4,5,6 fails xD
