Good day all, I'm getting back into the game after a break to 40K and i see that since 7th a lot has changed. I would like to play a slann without TG in a 1500 points list. So he 'd have to have some kind of protection. With only 375 point to play with, what are popular load outs? I'm playing him in a list with a 20 man saurus unit, 5 COC, an EOTG, 2x10 skirm. skinks, cham skinks and sallie. Which lore do you guys like on a lone slann? thanks, The Ironfoot
Welcome back! Looks like a Life list to me, what with the Steggy and single Saurus block, but probably most popular for a floater Slann is Death. Default solo-Slann gear is Plaque of Protection and/or Higher State of Consciousness. Gives you a nice 2+ ward against anything not in base contact and/or makes you immune to the pitiful attacks from normal rank and file soldiers. After that you have enough for the BSB and something fancy like the Plaque of Tepok. That'll give you a solid 1500 pt Slann. If you pick one or the other you can get a second discipline. Just don't skimp on the BSB.
If you were going to take a Scar Veteran to provide a fighty character anyway, you could take a Scar Veteran BSB. That way your army still has a BSB and your Slann can buy 25 more points of goodies.
Thanks for the suggestions! I came up with this: (345) Slann mage-priest -1 discipline (Rumination) -plaque of Tepok, Divine plaque of protection -BSB It's a shame there is no space for an other discipline. Would it be better to swap the plaque of protection for the ethereal discipline? I will probably give lore of life a go. If you only get 5 spells which would you try to avoid? I didn't see any of you recommending rumination, did anything change that makes it less usefull? of is it just not needed at this points lvl? If i did field a scar vet i would prefer that, would be enough space to get an other discipline in there. But i would really like to try the EotG and he fills my entire hero slot. Well lots of questions again... Been away to long
since u want to run a EOTG , GO LIFE! it heals it back up and shizzle u want to know which spell u dont need in lore of life well, since your slann is going solo, i recon u wont be using regen, becaus he has a wsvj on the other hand, awaking of the woods isnt that very usefull and the in base contact damage spell, can be subbed aswell hope this helps u
There are exactly 4 life spells you want- throne, stone, regrowth, dwellers. Regent has some value for a Slann in a unit, but none for a solo Slann. You have 5 spells to improve your odds of getting those 4, not to get another spell.
