Does a character riding a stegadon benefit from the look out sir rule from the skink crew?

good question, in my games I was just going with the randomization where 6 on the random roll was a hit on the character...

would be great if there something clearer on this

Nope. It is quite clear stated in the brb. It says that anything with us5 of higher does not benefit from the los rule.

@fer: wrong to. 1-4is mount 5-6is character. In situation of stegadon its on the crew inc character. And thus those hits neef to be ranonized to. Like: 1-4is. Skinks 5is priest and 6 is rerolled

Why not just use the 1-4 stegadon, 5 skink crew & 6 character from the book?

It's good enough to use for missile hits and impact hits, so it should be for other things too?

ya, I was just operating under the allocation based in the army rules book...not the brb for this mount

Yeah I am at uni right now so cannot check, but I am 99% sure on the stegadon page when it is talking about characters on stegadons it says 1-4 hits steg, 5 hits crew, 6 hits character... That is the way you would do it. No LoS since it is not a unit. Hmmm, I wonder if the character on steg can get LoS if the steg has joined a unit? Are there rules concerning monstrous mounts in a unit? My guess is they can be picked out, but I dont know without having my rulebook here...

LOS only aplies when a character has joined a unit. and having a mount does not fall under the rules of joining a unit.
so yeah LOS is only applied when the stegadon has joined a rank and file unit ie skinks or saurus.
bus becouse of the stegadon having a basic US 10 the priest wont get any LOS.
so against template and "line" armys like empire and dwarfs its not usefull to put your stegadon in a unit cause of te large target rule the unit will always been seen and so be shot at.
