So I started collecting warhammer about twelve years ago when I was in elementary school. I've recently gotten back into as I found out some of my friends are collectors as well. I've played a few casual games but to have a proper army I need to use a lot of "stand-ins" for missing troops. I'm going to list what I currently own, and what I'm planning on acquiring over the next little while, and I'd really appreciate some advice on how to put together a proper army, as well as how to play them effectively. My most common opponents are dwarves and high elves. We usually play low points games (1200-1500) but are starting to move up. 1 unit of saurus warriors 2 bases of jungle swarms 1 skink priest (staff with skull on top) 1 skink chief? (I think. He is holding javelins and is wearing a large triceratops style skull on his head) 2 skink cold one riders Saurus temple guard musician and banner 3-4 skinks including 1 chameleon with a blowgun 1 older style stegadon (in the mail) 1 slann mage or lord kroak (pretty sure thats what my lady friend got me for v-day) 1 mystery unit (expecting something cheap, possibly skink unit or saurus, again for v-day)
I agree. The battalion would fill in some stuff for you. You'll get another unit of Saurus, bolster those TG up a bit, and net some more Skinks. Though Salamanders would be a very welcome addition. Hopefully that's the mystery unit.
Salamanders, give the gift of fire this Valentines Day. Chocolates can be eaten in a day, but salamanders eat skinks forever.
I just realized Tenehuanin would be extra clever of your significant other, considering he is actually handing you a heart: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat440066a&prodId=prod1091278 It would be thoughtful and only slightly creepy.
I love the Kroak model! I almost always use him instead of the standard slann (as my slann, not as kroak). He just looks cooler.
