    Hey guys!

Ive been a warhammer collector for years and currently run Skaven and VC armies. If the rumours are true (and all the Lizardmen models were indeed removed from the GW cases this week when I was up in Nottingham) a new book is on its way. As such, I thought i'd seriously look into a few colour schemes for this new army. Could someone point me in the right direction of a selection of coulour schemes?

    Cheers

One of the things i'v allways liked about lizardmen is that there is never a definite scheme to what paints you "can" use. Although there are many different kinds of schemes you can use with other armies, none of them can match the variety of the lizardmen. Most other armies, although with many options, have some rules as to what paints you can use before it starts to look a bit wonky. Greenskins be green, beastmen/skaven only fur colors, undead use alot of bone, and armored units are most often somewhat limited to metallic colors. Lizardmen can use almost ANY colors in their scheme and still make it work. There are no rules as to what reptile skin should look like (Slight adversion to metallics perhaps), which means that by far the best method is to pick your own scheme instead of looking at someone else. This creates a truly individual and unique army.

My best tip for you is to go into a local GW store or the like, and simply take two colors, hold them next to each other, and debate weather or not you like them. If you do, then one goes on the body, the other one the scales, and then with a wash to match them.

    I agree with the above.

For what its worth though, in sixth edition we had Sacred Spawnings of the old ones, and a unit marked by the old ones had distinctive markinds: http://warhammeronline.wikia.com/wiki/The_Old_Ones. Lizards can be painted any scheme and be just fine, but if you want to follow established fluff the markings are a good place to start.
