So, my Warhammer group and I have just started putting together regular weekly games. So far all we really have for terrain are some hills and trees, and I'd like to expand that a bit. Naturally, that means Lustria terrain. So far the ideas I have are:

    -a spawning pool
    -skink apartments
    -temple/sacrificial altar (duh)
    -street lined with broken columns/statues
    -jungly bits

Anybody got any other ideas for things I could add to that list? I'd like to eventually make enough to fill about a board and a half, so I'll have some variety.

    A river!
    A swamp!
    A volcano!
    A dank stanky cave!
    A really large tree stump!
A magical gingerbread house! ... wait...

what do you mean by skink appartments? like where they will live or something like that?

i think a marshy/swamp area with lots of reeds would be cool, also look at terranscapes terrain pieces; he has loads on youtube aswell, its awesome and you could get some great inspiration from his work

Yeah, the idea was for a multi-level stone building that could reasonably house all the members of a skink spawn-family (say ten to twenty individuals). The terrain I'm planning to make will probably also be used for games of Mordheim (possibly using the jungle climate rules from Lustria: Cities of Gold for funsies). Vertical terrain's a big thing in that game, or so I've heard. Plus buildings like that have been found in Teotihuacan and other ancient Mesoamerican cities, so it'd be true to the theme.

And thanks for the tip about terranscapes, I'll check it out.

I like the idea of a valcano.
And like a tree house for the skinks. It may be the fact that i'm working on skink howdahs, but i see their lodgings up high in the trees.

In past books they were mentioned to have lived en masse in "barrios." I recall a picture of a rectangular building with stucco walls with the roof beams sticking out of the top a bit. That was some time ago however.

I think they are still on the picture of the temple comples, probaly not much more than a rectangle or two at that scale though.

That's a cracking good temple. I had a go at making one,but yours turned out much better.

Definitely going to watch this thread.
