i was thinking of different tactics and the problem i have with every list i create is wich magic banners to use on wich units?
what's usefull? what's crap? and in what type of lists do you guys use wich banner?

I, personally, love the Plaque of Dominion on CoC's. their a mobile unit so its hard to avoid seeing them and wizards have usually less Ld than combat characters.

I find that banners is usually a personal choice, myself I hardly give any units a banner except for my Slann as a BSB and then it is the Plaque of Dominion or the plain jane War Banner if I fighting against a horde army.

My advice, try different banners and find out which one suits your play style.

For me; Warbanner/Sun standard on Temple guard and Sun standard/Jaguar standard(+D6" charge anyway)
    It depends.
The plaque of dominion isn't all too great for me since well, I snipe wizards enough as it is.

    Cheers!

The ability to make enemy wizards test for stupidity is great against the likes of the undead (immune to Psych only covers fear, terror, panic etc - Stupidity not covered - See the BRB - Ran this by the manager at my local GW store, he had to check it himself because he didn't think it was so)

The chance of them falling to stupidity is fairly low, but for every extra dice they are made the roll they run the risk of falling out of favour with the dice gods. Should you score a failed test once you still hold them up so you score a minor victory for yourself there. Plus I think it works as a deterrent more than anything, tell your opponent that if they get too close they could find themselves drooling like an idiot they will hesiatte every now and again.

Dead on right there. Covers it all!
One thing I'd like to add:
Wizards in units are very cool..if they turn stupid, the unit follows them: so, 1 wizard less in the magic phase and the unit is now; out of position/behind the main line/whatever by a simple banner!
It's quite expensive though, but very fun indeed...
