Now nothing is as of yet solid, but i really want to make a solid All-Comers list, and i have some units that i'd really love to include but will svallow many of the points. I am currently quite firmly set on the general, albeit not nessecarily his lore, other things i'm set on will follow, and there will be some wiggle space in the list that i'd like tips / thougts and advice on filling out. Lords: Slann : BSB, Becalming, 1+ cast/dispel book, Obsidian amulet. - Considering Life, fire or Metal. I am a sucker for Metal and many of the effects it brings to the table, i hate that the SS augment is usless and hence it will prolly be sorted out. - Life and +1 cast is awesome the amount of cheap spells account for a lot, and could be 2 diced mostly, i like almost every spell in life. Life has an added advantage in me wanting krox, especially i go with 2 "smaller" units. - Fire is a great lore if i feel shooty, if i want to remove regeneration saves, or magic saves, and since i face both a troll WoC list and a WE list i think it could be valuable. Heroes : I am set on minimum 1 Cowboy, he will need to be in hero due to the high Lord cost as is. Several builds are useful, will probably give him an armor of destiny. I am set on at least one lvl 1 priest with heavens - scroll caddy. I am highly considering 1, maybe 2 skinks on either terradons or Rippers - likely terradons as i don't want to fail a ld 6 frenzy test. I think 2 of these could serve great roles in the army, and i could go a myriad of ways in gearing them up. I am also considering a chief on foot with the egg - then again, one of the terra's could carry it better, this would be the discount solution. Core : Due to certain limitations in special (krox) i won't be using TG, this leaves me needing a proper Anvil and Saurus are the only option i can think of to get what i want. thus: 30 Saurus, FC - is a set part o the list. Now this leaves some core pts. I am thinking : 20 Cohort, FC - Slann Bunker. 2 x 10 Skirmishers. Here i really want more skirmishers, but i don't want to spend much more on core - once again, the 2 tearra chiefs get more interesting. Special : I really want to test Kroxigor in large units here. Maybe even 2. 1 Unit of at least 6 w/ champ is a certainty - i am even considering 2, if i go for 2, i will use Life on my slann. If i go for 1, i will probably settle for 8 krox in the unit, and go 3 - 3 - 2. I also want to test Ripper's - this is set, and not changeable, i have failed with them thus far - so unit size must be my error, i will aim for : 6 Rippers 3 Rippers Plenty of toads, enough bodies to kill, and one warmachine chaser. To fill out special it gets more speculative - I could use Chamo's or Terradons (which i consider due to the lack of skink skirmishers). Not very interested in a bus, as it simply fails me everytime i field it, and not too interested in my other options either - maybe a bastiladon with "snake cage" but then again, i'd rather have the mobile units here. Rare: Salamanders, i have 2, i want to use 2. done. Maybe i'll test a unit of a mere 3 Razordons, but with all of the other considerations, this seems wasted. Now i am far abov pts if i bring it all - but i really wanted some input as to what to bring - the list generally would be very fast, and the saurus might have a hard time keeping up, but if they center advance, and the rest of the units can annoy the enemy meanwhile, i don't see a bigger issue. No TG doesn't bother me, i don't want my slann to touch combat, and depending on how i end up, i believe i left enough chaff i the list for people to never reach him besides the singular great eagle which won't hurt him a lot (once again life seems interesting, fire would burn the birdie down though). What are people'es thoughts, adivce, the likes? on the above. Will it even work if i go all out on my flyer options? could certainly be fun with such a list.
I too, have considered a fast moving army and a Slann w. no TG, my list looks something like: Slann - focus of Mystery - Power Stone (For that Fiery Convocation, so I can change spell - also, this keep my Slann cheap for an kitted OB) Old Blood - Coldone - Glittering Scales - Dawnstone - Sword of + 1 to hit - Crown of command ---------------------------------------------- Scar Veteran - Coldone - Armour of Destiny - Great Weapon - BSB (So i can reroll in combat, since my army is fastmoving and my slann is not) Skink Priest (havent settled on a lore yet) - Dispell Scroll Skink Chief - Ripperdactyl - Dragonhelm - Spear - Light Armour - Shield ---------------------------------------------------------- Skrox - Musican - Banner - 11 Skinks - 1 Kroxigor Skrox - Musican - Banner - 34 Skinks - 2 Kroxigor 3 x 10 Skink Skirmishers - Javelin + Shields ----------------------------------------------------------- 6 Kroxigors - 1 Ancient Bastilladon (Protecting the flanks on the lone Slann) - Sun beam 5 Chamelion skinks -------------------------------------------------------------- 2 x 1 Salamanders Trogolodon (I know he is not optimal, but it had to be a fun list. He can provide my kroxigors with PF and be a Vassal on the counterside of my priest - In your case, you could replace it with a unit of 5 Rippers)
