    Hello everyone. :)

I really like the design of the new Lizardmen (just too bad they didn't redo the salamanders IMO), so it may be time to buy some figures. :)

I have looked around GW´s homepage for the lizardmen, and found the article with 4 sample armies.

And the army named "March of the Thunder Lizards" looks really, really, REALLY cool.

But could it work irl? Or?

Plz come with your thourgts about this army, cos I dont want to spend alot of cash on nothing. :)

I hope you guys can help me.

    Thx.

i think it has a lot of promise for a 2k point army..

magic phase would be a bit underwhelming, but you could do a lot of flanking 1D6+1 impact hit charges with all those stegadons floating around on the battlefield

Hmmm, what if you traded the Kroq-Gar on Carnosaur for another two steggys?

    Would it still be owned?

Hmm they mentioned swapping Kroq Gar for two more skink characters on stegs, that would probably be a pretty cool idea. A chief with warspear on one, and a second engine to give you that bit more boosted magic defence and extended ward save. I think that would be a pretty cool army. Low leadership general, but basically everything worth anything is stubborn anyway.

Otherwise, I would definitely switch Kroq for a normal Old Blood on carnosaur, you can make one just as good for a lot less points. I'm not sure you could quite fit an extra steg in with the points left over, but you could definitely afford some items on the priest and maybe a few more skinks.

Check out Dalkarius's army list, he has fought a few matches with 5 steggies I think...

No stegadons have 1d6+1 impact hits.. You might be thinking of the stegadon warspear, an item you can give a skink chieftain, which gives the steg 2d6+1 impact hits.

well i play with an army containing 4 stegadons, and that already seems a big challenge for most people ( ie 8 wins and 1 loss).

my army list is also floating around here in the armylist section so.

i don't think 6 stegadons work very well. becouse you have nothing else really ( except 3 skink unit core fillers). and if you dont have the charge you lose the impact hits and you only have 3 to 4 attacks on s5 or 6. and that is not great for a model that costs 300 pts.

3-4 s5-6 hits, plus the poison hits from the crew and anything the characters might have along for the ride...

they are formidable, but ya...more then 4 would be tough I think to work with effectively w/o making sure you get off those impact hits, they are really what make them effective against blocks
