Hi All, I'm part way through the conversion of my stegadon to make a Mazdamundi model and I plan to use him in some battles (more for the fun of it rather than his value for points - also, Slann bsb on a stegadon? heck yes!). So below is my list, and I'll put some reasonings below that; Lord Mazdamundi (Lore of Life) - 620 Gor-Rok - 215 Scar Veteran (Shield, Armour of Fortune, Biting Blade) - 133 Skink Priest (Level 2, Dispell Scroll, Lore of Heavens) - 125 25 Saurus Warriors (Spears, Command) - 330 20 Saurus Warriors (Command) - 250 10 Skink Skirmishers (Brave) - 76 5 Chameleons - 60 5 Chameleons - 60 11 Cold One Cavalry (Huanchi's Blessed Totem, Command) - 460 3 Terradon Riders - 90 1 Razordon (extra skink) - 80 --------------- The single razordon is for 2 reasons. I only have one, and something to attrat attention (it's good enough that, if left unanswered, could cause problems). I will also use it as a charge blocker. Seeing that Gor-Rok gives stubborn, I plan on adding him to the smaller unit of Saurus. The reasoning is because there are only 2 ranks of attacks, they may need to remain in combat longer than the spear saurus, hence the need for stubborn. Why Gor-Rok? Scar Vets only get 50 points of magic items and Stubborn Hat leaves you with only 15 points for survivability items, which I tend to feel Gor-Rok's resillient ability is worth more than 15 points. However 215 points is still way too much for him, it WAS justifiable before they errata-ed his shield away (strip lances of their charging bonuses etc. was sweet!) Any thoughts on how I could improve this list would be appreciated!!
But, but, but I've got this shiny new conversion! Haha! I'm partial to the named characters for some reason. When I win the lotto, I'm going to buy the Kroq-Gar model and convert him up as an Old Blood. I am looking forward to when GWS reduces his (Gor Rok) cost!
I hear you, but you already have 1 overpriced special character in the army--taking a second is just masochism.
I don't mind the price of mazdamundi, an eotg is 390 without magic items. A decent slann would cost you about 500 points, so its nearly worth it. However, it would be nice to be given a couple of disciplines.
