7th Ed. Me and Dwarfs vs Chaos and orge's

    So first off English is my worse language any spelling corrections will be ignored :) (yes im American but I call my self Texan)(long bad joke)

    So I am teamed up with a Dwarf player
    He has. 2 squads of ranked firers, a cannon, and lots of melee units.
    (Sorry not a Dwarf player)

    My lists.
    10 Saurus Warriors With champ and SB
    12 Skink Skirmishers
    2 Jungle Swarms
    10 Temple Guard With Champ and SB and Music
    8 Cold one Calvary
    5 Chameleon Skins
    1 Salamander Hunting pack with 1 extra handler
    1 skink priest lvl 2 with tome and dispel

    Opponent
    Chaos Player;
    Uggg (once again new to fantasy some unit and names might not be correct)
    2 X squads (separate) Chaos Knights on Mounts (1 with a lvl 2 sorcerer)
    3 X squads Chaos warriors on foot
    Orge player;
    1 squad of Ironguts (4 ish in the squad)
    1 squad of Orge kingdom bulls
    1 close to full sqauad of Gnoblars
    1 small squad Gnoblars trappers
    1 caster (don’t know who)
    1 guy who infiltrated on turn 2
    And some guy who had some cats.

    OK so we lost the roll to set up first 12 inch deployment on a normal 72 by 48 inch
    He Dwarf player got the hill and set up his range and cannon.
    On my side the very corner I did the sala hunt pack.
    Then my Cold Ones. Jungle swarms. Then skinks and salamanders in the trees
    Temple G and Sar warriors. Priest is in the back. Chilin. His spells. Portent of far, Second sign of amul, and my Comet of Cassandra.
    we go first … I move a couple inchs forward and … goto magic. I am the only caster and against 10 dispel dice. I got screwed.
    Their turn. They move cast a fuck ton of spell killed 3 Chameleon.
    And a lot of Dwarfs
    Our turn. … ugg this is where we start to go down hill.. OK. So I charge my Cold ones to some Choas Knights… I also charge with my swarms to a group of chaos warriors. Magic. (their 9 dice > then my 4> Shooting. Skins (the group) shoot a group of ogres. Couple wounds. Not bad. CC. My swarms inflict enough for a non attack back. Cold ones get rapped and 4 run way. My Salamander show the Gnoblars whos boss. The Dwarf player adds to the carnage about 120 points lost for our evil opponents. Their turn Confligrate doom kills all my skinks skirmishers. Fireball takes out my salamander, The orge does something to my cold ones.. their gone. Melee take out dwarfs. I stop careing. WTF happened.

    Some lesson learned.
    1 don’t play against chaos
    2 You cannot run / march / move if your near 8 inches of a Opposing model (gay) even if your in the woods.
    3 Enemies can charge in woods. You can run. But. Who cares
    4 casting spells against chaos is dumb. When he has 4 dispel dice.
    5 getting charge sucks. TG and SW cant do shit but die. ….
    6 don’t play against chaos.
    7 take pics

    So any advice. I know I need terradons but they are 17 bucks a piece 0 on ebay. Any website that have them cheaper??

    Yes I know Jungle swarms suck didn’t have anything else.


    Also noted been playing twice a week. Won Zero games. ... almost won 0 games. Tied 8 Plus games. Due to scenario. (i consider a tie a weak win sorry)

    Well..Lez break it down
    Some lesson learned.
    1 don’t play against chaos
    -->You should. The Mortal chaos list is really terrible. The only thing good in the army is the magic and the exalted champions (based on points cost vs goodness). To beat mortal chaos you can take (don't have to, but will make it easier). The following:
    Slann in a fatty unit of temple guard.
    Lots of skink skirmishers. One unit of chameleon Skirmishers
    A skink priest on an eotg.
    One Unit of terradons.
    1-2 salamanders/razordons.
    1-2 Units of 18 saurus with spears ranked 6x3. (if can afford, if not, dun matter)

    2 You cannot run / march / move if your near 8 inches of a Opposing model (gay) even if your in the woods.
    -->Its called 'march blocking'. You can do it too, its a viable warhammer tactic. Use the terradons and chameleons to do just that against your opponents units (this is why i suggested).

    3 Enemies can charge in woods. You can run. But. Who cares
    --> they need to be able to see you to charge you. If you are inside the wood (none of your models within 2 inches of the side in line of sight of enemy) then they cannot see you, hence cannot charge.

    4 casting spells against chaos is dumb. When he has 4 dispel dice.
    -->Incorrect. Slann and priest on eotg will easily punch through a measly 4 dispel dice.

    5 getting charge sucks. TG and SW cant do shit but die. …
    -->Don't be scared to flee as a charge reaction with saurus. just not with temple guard. When you get charged by something badass, choose to use hand weapons instead of spears. This increases a saurus's armor save in combat to 3+, and temple guard's to 2+. Make the slann in the tg unit a battle standard bearer. Give the temple guard standard bearer the war banner. ALL SAURUS in your army NEED to be armed with spears (the old ones say so ;0)

    6 don’t play against chaos.
    -->(Seriosly, mortal chaos suck [not daemons, they are hackers]. All you need is to tailor your army list to make it harder, and to play more games to increase your experience

    7 take pics (hell yeah bro)

    I've a few more ideas.
    1 - Don't play with Dwarves. They are an utterly crap list. This is not a statement based on personal choice or prejudice. This is a statement of fact.

    2-If an army you face has more that 300 or so points in knights (mounted, heavy armor guys, not including fast cavalry) that are not High Elf Dragon Princes, take the lore of metal with your Slann. The last spell melts knights like a fiend.

    3-Read heaps of the army lists in the army lists section of THIS FORUM. Its good. Work out how to equip your slann form these lists.

    4-Read a number of the tacticas, including the discussions on swarms, saurus cavalry, skink cohorts, and razordons/salamanders.

    Your is very far away from what it could be. This is a statment designed to help, not offend. Again, pay close attention to the army list section, and look at armies that are of lower and higher points than yours as well as just your points bracket. Troll this forum heaps and work on your list. Then play with your lizzies heaps. You should be good then.

    I for got to add it was a 1100 per army. It was a random roll between the dwarfs and orge's


    once again thanks for the info. . just a little dis hearted.
