I'd say there's four options that could be useful when dealing with these kinds of monsters.

    1. Skinks, with plenty of poison even the biggest monsters will fall. If they have no save the easier it is. If they have saves then you just need more shots. :p

    2. Scar-veterans/Old-bloods, you can kit these guys up so that they can endure a lot and still hit quite hard.

    3. Skrox units, with plenty of S6 hits from kroxigors you should be able to take the monsters down. And since you are immune to stomp you shouldn't take too much damage and with ranks you have nice staying capability with steadfast. Plus you can get lucky with stand and shoot.

    4. Slann, with right magic I think you can deal with monsters. I'd say pit of shadows would be the best option but I wouldn't take shadow slann just to deal with monsters.

I would prefer these in the mentioned order. Ofcourse you can just try to break and run down the monster. :p

Blade of realities is awesome for this purpose. It is a pleasure to see it in action. Keep it away from a bsb though. That reroll would suck when fighting high leadership opponents.

As with any scary beast: "Kill it with fire! is a solid advice.

Even in the Warhammer world, where a lot of beasts have regeneration. Use a fiery weapon to negate it and then fire your poisoned shots at it.
Any weapon that deals multiple wounds is ofcourse ace, weaken it with skink-fire and then move in for the kill.
Chameleon skinks can start shooting from as soon as turn 1!

The downside to blade of realities is that it just costs soooo much...and the heroes that you would want to insta-kill (goblin bosses don't count..) have a high leadership, so they will not go 'poof' anytime soon. Add in a BSB and I think you would be better of with an entirely different load-out for your old-blood.

But, try it, see if you like it and then change if needed!

Oldblood, Blade of Realities, Carnosaur. Rather expensive but should do the trick.

I tend to take Metal on my Slann, as it has tools to deal with things that can otherwise be a problem. "Most" monsters have at least a 4+ or 5+ save (HPA being the notable exception), so it's not too bad against them, and it makes Papa Hydra cry.

Carnosaur takes a bite (literally) out of most monsters. The only exception is the stonehorn with his thick skull rule. He has enough attacks and a ridiculous strength to get a few of those D3 attacks through.

Add a few great weapon attacks from the guy on the back and most monsters should be dead.

Aside from that, skinks skinks skinks. Poison will take down a big guy, or make him manageable in CC.

Hmm one of the lore of light magic missiles can be boosted to s6 can't it? That is pretty useful coming from a Slann.

Definitely skinks are the best way though. Loads of poison messes up any monster. If you have an ancient steg, it can launch its giant blowpipes too.
