Hi everyone, tried to search, but can't find something already posted, so here's my question:

I recently played against empire, with an oldblood on a cold one running solo. He had armour of destiny + dawnstone, so re-roll as and 4+ ward.

he took a charge from a steamtank, which rolled like 8 impact hits or something.
The way we played it, the oldblood took all those hits on his as (modded for strength of hits), re-rolled failed salves, then took the ward save, and so only suffered one wound.

Question is, was it right to allocate the hits like that?
In the resulting combat, the oldblood destroyed the steamtank over two rounds (halberd).
Could my opponents have allocated attacks to the cold one (impact hits, and following combat rounds)

thanks for the advice!

You did it right, the rule you are thinking of is "Monsterous mount"
that would apply to characters on stegadons or carnasaurs.

Cold ones are just regular mounts, same as your friends knights,
and they have a combined stat line.

thanks n810 :D

so an oldblood on cold one is more durable than on a carnosaur as the rules stand?!

Guess you're buying the extra attacks/frenzy etc

It's a dilemma for sure. This is why a lot of people prefer to run Saurus characters on Cold Ones rather than Carnosaurs. However, it's worth bearing in mind that unless both character AND Carnosaur are killed, your opponent gets zero victory points. That's 5 (6?) extra wounds.

Those extra wounds are going to be a bit easier to take though.

Well, hoping Santa delivers a carnosaur so i can see what works best!
