i fire with a sally on a unit of gores, i make 2 wounds, so it wouldnt be a panic test, since sallies discirption says, needs one casualtie what if in that shooting phase, i finshed off the ogre with a skink, would it stll count?
It would not cause a panic check unless it is 1/4 of the unit. The auto panic check is from the flames. Those are considered gone when you shoot with something else.
Agreed. Panic from Sally fire has to be from a death. So a better option would be to shoot with your salamander after your skinks, therefore increasing the odds of getting a kill from the fire. This is one of the rare cases where Razordons would work better. The template just doesn't hit enough models to cause as much damage.
Unless you can get a good flank shot on a unit of about 9+ Ogres. Then you may be able to at least hit 6 or so, Problably only kill one if you are lucky though.
