Hey people, I have been out of the game for nearly 8 years....wow that's a long time thinking about it. So I walked into one of my local GW shops (Maidstone) and I remembered my days of Warhammer, and got hooked again so I brought a pack of saurus warriors and decided I would start again an go all the way.

Mind you I never actually got round to playing the game when I first started, so this time round instead of going all out, I'm going to get bit by bit and learn. Hopefully you guys can help me out. So first Step Painting I have some rough ideas on what I would like to use but I'm open to suggestions and criticism.

So for my saurus warriors I got a colour scheme from this idea:
    694884f97737e40076c67b10106c046b_zps249bc571.jpg

For the Skinks I got this scheme (with some variation):

    red-eyed-tree-frog_zps257efd80.jpg

So what do you guys think and ill get painting them an show you some pictures as soon as I can :D

    Hey dude!

Glad to see fellow painter:) Here is what helped me at skinks:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XYodFF87Ruw
I found this video really helpful, the guy explained a lot to me, really worth watching it.
The colors are up to you, I opened a chart and planned what will I do on each part, like this:

    base color l shade l highlight1 l highlight2 l glaze
    body part1
    body part2 color1 shade1 color2 color3 glaze1
    weapon
    etc
    etc

I hope this will be usefull for you. Cheers!

    Re: So The Army Begins....

    It's a good start :)
I'm not a fan of the green tips, myself, but that's a personal taste thing. You will need to get some shields on those bad boys though!

Nice start on the Skinks! Mine are green too, but not with the other colors for the hands and crests.

I see alot of people use the dark elf codies for their CoR and many of them do what you've done with simply plonking the saurus on top.
What I have done, and recommend, is to angle the leg pieces more inward snugly against the cold one and cut the protruding plastic down. I find that it looks more natural and less like the ogre mournfang cavalry seat.

    Happy converting :)
