Hello guys, In my other thread i was covering my original lizardmen army. But i had so much fun working on my space marines that i decided to make this my main project. Here are 2 pictures of my first tactical squad. Front and back. Tell me what u guys think. The lighting might not me superb but my phone battery was low so the flasher didint work .
Love them. I'm a 40k-er too also with red Space Marines (of the Chaos variety). I really like the red colour you've got going there. What did you use to achieve that? EDIT: Couldn't help but notice we have very similar bases too.
Iam almost ashamed to admit it but that is just khorne red and thats it. I decided not to do highlighting at al. Only a few inks here and there. All the time i want to highlight i want to overdo it and i loose motivation so i decided to keep it basic. Glad though that it still looks good
Here is my second squad all finished up in proud blood raven colours! The brotherhood is growing into a fearsome force! Next up; The dreadnought!
And is here is my blood ravens army so far. Ofcourse this will be expanded in the near future. Probably january/february. I wil now start with my commander and leave the terminators for last cause i think they will be a pretty long job.
Next up the commander. I decided to take him before the terminators cause i feel ita a cool model to pai t. Its the comma der from battle of macragge boxed set. I also found about 15 other assembled tacticals so ive got plenty to do hehe. My uncle is finishing up his tau so we will soon be doing a little combat patrols.
And here is the finished product! Iam very happy about how it turned out. I just love painting this colour scheme with the red/black/sand and the golden details. After looking at him along with his gray hair he reminds me of gabriel angelos from the dawn of war series!
They all look amazing! The commander looks especially spectacular! Great colour scheme expertly put together.
Thx man! I really love this colour scheme too. Next project; the terminators. A squad of 5 also leftovers from the battle of macragge boxed set.
Looking good! I'm pretty slack when it comes to highlights as well. Most of my minis are basecoated, drubrushed then dipped in quickshade.
Hey really nice color scheme there!! I also paint space marines, but they´ve been abandoned since I started lizardmen... Why no give it a drybrush instead of a highlight? It is faster, easier, and will also give great results. One more painting trick if you allow me ( ), in your place I´d give the red armour a black (nuln oil) or brown (agrax earthshade) to define a bit more the details of the armour. I´m sure they´ll look better for 5-10 minutes more to each model. Really nice bases by the way!!
Awesome. Closest I' e ever come to painting a Blood Raven was a Deathwatch Librarian. They look great, love the symbols. And as said before, great colours on the Captain. I'm planning on takkng some photos of my Dar Angels soon. I'll share here too, ot's always nice to see peoples other work. Do you have plans @mrlakkie on what you'll do with them after the AoBR models?
Hmmm thx for the tip. Iam allready uskmg both those inks for my metal parts an the sand coloured bits. Ill really consider inking the red. Just gotta find which one suits best. Herr a pic of my strike force so far...
Wow I stopped watching for a moment and BOOM! You've got an army. Looking really nice there - decals add a finished feel to them. I only just started using decals myself and went a bit overboard, one of my Chosen has about 4 decals on him. Oops!
