I'd split your Skinks into groups of 10-12. Also, rather than two blocks of 20 Saurus, consider one block of around 30. This'll also save you a lot of points, allowing you to kit your Scar-Vet more. Give him a Cold One and some Magic Items. I like Fencer's Blades. Dawnstone's always fun. How do you plan to best make use Kroak's spell?

Good question. I'll will probably put him with temple guard for his safety and to give them the bonus he provides. Maybe have the priest join one of the skirmishers to allow him to cast the spell for a distance if need be.

If I don't gave the SL a cold one I'll put him with the Saurus.

How much do the DAWNSTONE and Fencer's Blades cost. I haven't bought the main rule book yet.

Fencer's Blades is 35, Dawnstone 25, so you can't take both. Fencer's Blades would give him WS 10, but Dawnstone lets him reroll all failed armor saves. So you could go more defensive, and get him Dawnstone plus a decent ward save, or you could go more aggressive with Fencer's Blades. I'd definitely put him on a Cold One either way. A Scar-Vet Cowboy running around on a CO can wreck face. They're hands down one of the best units in our army.

I'd highly recommend mounting him on a Cold One. Not only does it allow them to move around a lot more easily and get some juicy flank charges, but it also bumps up their AS to a 1+, which is a rerollable 1+ if you give him Dawnstone. You could still stick him in with the Saurus until you move in closer, if you want.

As far as Kroak goes, you could give a Skink Priest Cloak of Feathers go kamikaze right in the center of your opponent's army. Probably give him a ward save of some kind if you can.

I'll try a cold one Saurus that does seems potent. They look awesome mounted anyway.

I would normally give the Skink Priest a cloak of feathers but I have an unclocked one which I could convert or make one with left over Skinks if any.

Also is Beasts a good lore choice for the priest?

Finally, Thank you so much for your help.

I don't see any reason why you couldn't run a Priest with the Cloak even if the miniature doesn't have one.

Beasts is a good choice, but Heavens isn't bad either. Iceshard Blizzard from Heavens can be a huge help against Warmachines, so if you know your opponent will bring a lot of cannons that might be a good choice as well. The -1 to hit helps a lot against higher WS infantry, so that's a consideration. Wyssan's from Beasts is also good both defensively and offensively. I'd say both Heavens and Beasts are a good choice, it just depends on the situation. Heavens becomes a lot better against armies with a lot of range, and can be a lifesaver against artillery. Since the -1 to Hit also applies in CC, it can also level the playing field against high WS units, or even have more basic infantry hitting your Saurus on 5's. Wyssan's will help make your Skinks a bit more survivable if they wind up in close combat, and can let your Saurus even take on some of the more elite units in the game.

Are you buying a Magic Standard for your Temple Guard? Since they're our only unit that can take one, it's good to take advantage of that.

No problem, glad I could help!

Than I will use feathers after all the player don't care THAT much about the overrated WYSIWYG rule.

Yes I will buy a magic standard for the temple guard maybe not the musician or spawn leader.

Especially not when it comes to magic items. I don't have much tournament experience, but at least when it comes to friendly games it shouldn't be a problem at all.
