First a dumb question the part in Jungle Swarms where it says it doesn't count towards your core minimum requirements, since the Army Building change in 8th is this just ignored? Second Question, Just bought my first Stegadon... which is better Normal Stegadon with Giant Bow or Ancient with Giant Blowpipes? Thoughts? Thanks
Re: Two Questions - Stegadon and Jungle Swarms No question is a dumb question, except the question not asked..... Anyway, the jungle swarm still does not count toward the core requirement. They are all but useless in my opinion. As far as the Ancient steg or regular steg go, I prefer to use either the ancient (usually with a skink chief with warspear or an EOTG). I have two stegadons, one old and one new. I have them both built in a way that I can take them either way. I have never used the giant bow though. It is a waste as you need to move the steg across the table to get it into combat buy cannot shoot the bow because you are moving.
Re: Two Questions - Stegadon and Jungle Swarms Not entirely true, you can move and fire but not march and fire using the howdah weapons rule. Regular Steg still isn't that great though.
Re: Two Questions - Stegadon and Jungle Swarms The howdah weapons on a steggie are secondary. The giant bow only hits once every 3rd or 4th game, the giant blowpipes actually do something most games and the EotG can be a game winner against certain opponents. Take the steggie for being a steggie, howdah weapons should be viewed as an occasionaly useful bonus.
Re: Two Questions - Stegadon and Jungle Swarms Thanks for all the Input. I'm gonna run him as an Ancient Stegadon with Blowpipes. I don't have enough room to have him as an Engine at the moment. Besides using all the extra Engine parts i could pimp out my Death Slann's Throne. =P
Re: Two Questions - Stegadon and Jungle Swarms New Questions... Giving Slann the Regenerate Discipline. Pointless right because it does not stack with ward, and they are both 4+? Second Question: Channeling Staff - Says it adds +1 to Channeling. I couldn't find what it means, Do I roll 2 dice for Channels? Or do I just get a Dice on 5+ instead of Six?
Yeah the regen is useless now. Last edition when the book was printed, they could stack. No more though. And +1 to channeling does indeed mean you get it on a 5+. Not very useful really.
Thanks much Strewart. Yeah I figured as much. Just making sure, I will have to play around with a Channeling Staff on a Priest. Just got him all painted today. -.- Just waiting for my friends to finishing painting a small force so we can start our first games.
Thanks. It looks like I'm gonna be going up against Dark Elves first. My two other friends are taking forever putting together Warriors of Chaos and Dwarves. The Dark Elves are being played by my Friend's Girlfriend. Should be interesting.
