My Steg Conversion Model Question

Hello everyone! I found this dino-toy at Walmart the other day for only a buck and thought I might try to do a conversion for a Steg.

The dimensions are a bit larger than the GW model, but not by much I don't think (according to measurements I found online). Width is 2.5", head to tail is about 8", and 3" total heigth with a 2.75" height to the back peak.

So my questions are, what are your opinions and recommendations? I know the scaling is a bit off, but I thought it was kinda close for a $1 Wal-Mart toy.

Who cares! Unless you are going to a specific Games Workshop sanctioned tournament you're good. I want to see the progress now!

Hah! Alright. then. I'll get a start on the conversion this week. I'll post updates when I have them. Thanks!

If its feet fit (or at least mostly fit) on a chariot base (50X100mm) It should work fine. The current GW steg hangs over the base as well.

As someone who constantly converts items and takes them to GW sanctioned events...Just abide by their rule... MAKE IT LOOK GW. My Thunder Lizard project is now officially approved by GW and its staff... As long as you add enough bits and pieces to make it look like the Steg you are good to go.

Funny I did a conversion with that same toy Steg...
Definitely give it a good coat of primer before you paint it
or it will stay sticky for some reason...

That must be one hell of a thunder lizard if your GW approved it. Don't suppose you could tell us how you made it?

You are missing out on an amazing sight if you do not check out his thread on it here. Its 13 pages well worth going through.
