Hi. There is going to be a tournament in my local club, and it's some time since i played my Lizardmen, so I need some help building an army. I know there's gonna be power gamers, and i've never played against one before. This is the rules for the tournament: - * Infantry are units that are not skirmishers, can't shoot an uses 20, 25 or 40 mm bases. - Max 3 identical core choices which is not infantry*. - Max 2 hero choices. - Max 2 identical special choices which is not infantry*. - No of the same rare choices. - Max 10 PD per turn. - Max 6 DD per turn (First scroll counts as 1 DD, after that scrolls counts as 2 DD. - No special characters. - Max 3 stegadons - Max 1 engine of the gods. I was thinking of making my list like this: Saurus oldblod: Carnosaur, scimitar of the sun, enchanted shield, glyph necklace = 460 pts Skink chief: Ancient stegadon, light armour, shield, battle standart, stegadon war-spear = 409 pts Skink priest: Lvl 2, diadem of power, scroll, engine of the gods = 440 pts 20 x saurus: Full command = 250 pts 20 x saurus: Full command = 250 pts 10 skinks = 50 pts 10 skinks = 50 pts 11 skink skirmishers: Javelin and shield = 88 pts 3 terradon riders = 90 pts 2 razordons = 150 pts Total = 2247 I was thinking something like the 2 x 20 saurus would go as a block in the middel, the skink skirmishers as a shield in front of them, engine between the 2 blocks to support them, the 2 skink units on each flank, the oldblod on one flank (in one of the skink units to protect him) and the chief and on the other flank, and the the razordon where they do most damage. The terradons will go war machine hunting. Thx
Buy spears for sarus. Trade glyph necklace for amulet of Itzl. Good list to use javelin skinks in, good list to use razordons in. you have crazy dino beats, I don't know if you really need the scimitar. I believe firmly in the statement of an acquaintance of mine concerning magic, either go all out or caddy it. I.E. it's not that important for your skink priest to be level 2 in this case because he will all too often be hodding his power dice into dispel dice, further, ask about the rules because technically you have 7 dispel dice (counting scroll)
I agree with Donkey above me Altough i'd like to see Kroxigor and/or Skrox units in this list. you have Carni, and 2 stegs for 3 M6 Terror causers capable of dealing high damage. Then you have slow moving saurus to do....? what? Your stegs and carni should take care of those threats! That's why Kroxigor are excellent in this list (IMHO), They also have M6, can take some beating before they die, don't suffer from stupidity, and pack a punch as well. Skrox units instead of the Saurus is simply because the heroes make this army into an assault army (that's the way i see it ), Skrox units are only good on the charge and you want the initiative and tehrefore the charge. So take it with these boys and let them have it. You can also use your approach of letting the enemy in the Saurus (please with spears!) and counter-charge. I just believe that your enemy has lots of time dealing with your expensive heroes/mounts while your not putting pressure on him. Let me clarify this Your opponent likes to see your Big nasties stand back instead of pressuring him (read: attacking). When you attack him he HAS to find a solution to them or he will be overrun. When you Stand back to counter-charge he has time to find a unit/item/good dice roll to kill them! Besides, your stegadons and carnosaur costs a lot of points, so you want to make it count. Then make it! The next thing is just a personal touch: Swap 1x2 Razordons for 2x1 Salamander. IMO 2 separate Sala's are much more effective than 1x2 Razors. Hope this Helps! The Hunted
He's got 5 dispel dice. 2 from skink, one form scroll and 2 from army. The armies pretty good, but i would have take three units of 18 saurus with spears (6x3) ad dropped the javelin skinks and a diadem and few other things. Good luck.
