8th Ed. Need Help With Building Army

    I havent played warhammer or warhammer 40k in about 4 years or so(probably closer to 6 years now)

    I had stopped playing while I was building a LM army and still havent purchased a new rulebook and codex(im weary of spending the $100+ until i know if i have something i can still use)

    the list of models i have is as follows:

    1 saurus SC/OB
    1 skink priest
    30 saurus warriors FC w/ spears
    25 saurus warriors FC w/ HW
    20 skink skirmishers w/ blowpipes
    16 skinks w/ Jav and Shields
    10 temple guard FC (thinking of getting Chakax)
    8 saurus calvary FC w/ HW and shields

    Total Points: (no idea, dont have the updated codex)

    never quite finished filling out the army as you can see and im pretty sure that alot has changed since i had begun. any suggestions of what i can add, do without, what items to add to characters, etc. would be greatly appreciated.

    side note: can kroxigors still charge through skink skirmishers?

    1 Old Blood

    1 skink priest - Level 2, +1 Spell item

    30 saurus warriors FC w/ spears
    25 saurus warriors FC w/ HW

    10 skink skirmishers w/ blowpipes
    10 skink skirmishers w/ blowpipes

    Probably around 1.2k ish right there.

    16 skinks w/ Jav and Shields (Need more models or just say they are cameleon skinks or something)
    10 temple guard FC (Need more of these and useually better with a slann otherwise you can loose points easily on them)
    8 saurus calvary FC w/ HW and shields (Are not amazing this edition but could be used to get some points up)

    do you have any suggestions on what i should add next(unit-wise)?

    If you want magic add a slann, if you want combat add either a Skrox unit or Stegadon/Ancient Stegadon?

    Then salamanders are always good in this editions with their -3 armour save.

    The good thing is you really have all the basics the rest of it is down to flavour (all except your lord choice, which slann is usually preffered)

    Could buy another box of temple guard and have them running around with a scar vetran in if you wanna go combat.

    old blood armour of destiny (4+ward heavy armour) bane head (doubling wounds on chosen character) piranha blade (double wounds for total of 4 wounds on the chosen character) shield 250

    30 saurus spears full command 318

    24 saurus full command 305

    10 skrimishers with blowpipes 70

    6 chameleons 72

    5 chameleons 60

    5 cold ones just to use them....

    next things to buy

    1 box of tg

    2-4 salamanders

    chameleons or convert skirmishers or simply paint them green

    slann

    play old blood as scar-vet

    use a lore of light slann an go kill evil things!

    and no krox cant charge through skinks but can instead form units with them and you can get skinks in ranks they can get kroxigors as an upgrade its a pretty good unit but with the models you already own you should not buy them
