Help need some help with protecting the silver tower tokens

So i want these tokens to last and not fray or plain get messed up over using them,

can you give me any ideas hoe best to do so,

1. laminated the tiles did not work lamination was bad
2.I have thought of taping them but i have heard clear packaging tape goes bad after some time...
3. thinking about buying some plastic sheets and gluing them to the tiles/ token but i dont know the best glue to use for this so it wont end up ruining the cardboard or getting cloudy and not to mention mess up the photos on said tiles/tokens...

Puzzle glue might be good. It's supposed to glue card without warping it I believe. Not sure how well it would stick to clear plastic though.

Maybe do a felt or rubber to glue to the bottom, slightly larger, then glue the plastic to that so that there is no glue on the picture of the token, just around it.

It's a clear tape used on wings etc to stop chipping, I use it on the underside of my Mtb to stop damage, just search on ebay
