Can anyone post here the number of core, special and rare choices for the Lizzies? It seems I just cant find it... And some questions: If the EOTG is in close combat, cant the priest use magic, and cant the crew fire missiles? It looks very odd to me because it seems the skinks themselves aren't engaged in close combat... I say it totally based on logic though. Help would be appreciated
Try the Lizardmen rulebook page 89 in the bottom right corner. The Crew can not fire missiles they are in combat (stabbing with their spears over the side of the howdah) The Priest ... Can a magic user cast in combat? I can not find the section that says they can't. The only thing I can find is the following: "Wizards cannot cast spells at units engaged in close combat, unless the spell only affects the caster himself or the spell's description specifies otherwise."
Because they need LOS... right? So... a Priest on a Stegadon that is Large Target has LOS even when in CC? Would the Priest on a Stegadon be able to cast Magic Missile / LOS dependant spells at a unit that he has LOS to but isnt the one he is in CC with? A unit behind the unit he is in CC with for example?
as the stegadon provides a large target LoS the priest can see over his own combat, much like a slann in a unit of TG. a wizard in close combat can not cast magic missiles at all, so basically your skink can't cast forked lightning or uranons thunderbolt if he is in close combat.
No, there is a special clause saying how you cannot shoot magic missiles out of combat. Edit: Ah, I see Bibamus beat me to it by one minute.
Page 110! Thanks, I knew it was there but I for some reason or another could not find it! It does clearly state no casting of Magic Missiles in combat, there are no exceptions at all. I just imagine that even though he is a Large Target and can see other units he is too busy fighting in close combat to casting those types of spells that need targets to be picked out with LOS.
Thats just too bad... I always thought that as the priest is actually standing above the battle he could still cast his spells. My ogre opponent didn't agree with me and my priest was quite useless through the battle. At least the draw was in my favor... Thank you all!
