    Heya at you all!
I can see several of threads like this, but i don´t want to "borrow" someone else's thread to post my army list :)
So, as the topic say: Im new to Warhammer Fantasy Battle and i choosed Lizardmen and there is a 2400point tournament upcoming in 2 weeks.

    Opponents:
Empire, High Elf, Dark Elf, Chaos Warriorx2, Deamons of Chaos, Orc&Goblin, Tomb Kings and Dwarves.

So this is what im thinking:

    Lord:
    Slann Mage Priest
    - Life
    - Focus of Mystery (know all spells)
    - The Focus of Rumination (add a free D6 to each spell)
    - The Becalming Cogitation (Remove all D6 from enemy wizard)
    - Cupped Hand of the Old ones - (If miscast roll a D6 on 2+ ignore and if enemy wizard is in line of sight
    he/she will suffer the result)
    - Iron Curse (6+ Ward Save vs War Machines)

    Heroes:
    Skink Priest LvL 1
    - Dispell scroll

    Skink Chief
    - War Spear (2D6+1 Impact)

    Special:
    Temple Guardx20
    - Full command
    - Banner of Eternal Flame (Flaming attacks)

    Chameleon Skinksx5

    Chameleon Skinksx5

    Rare:
Ancient Stegadon (Put Skink Chief here)

    Salamander Hunting Pack x2
    - Extra Handler

    Salamander Hunting Pack
    - Extra Handler

    Core:
    Saurus Warriorx24
    - Full Command
    - Spear

    Saurus Warriorx24
    - Full Command
    - Spear

    Skink Skirmishx10

... That´s it, i lack some fighting vs some units. I can feel it :( uhm, warmachines?
Still, thank you for taking time reading and thank you even more for your feedback!

    (List edited once)
    Cheers :)

Unfortunately you cant put both the chief and the priest on the same stegadon. Each has to buy his own steg mount.

Also unless your tournament specifies other wise you cant have more than 2 of the same rare choice. You will have to combine your sallies into 2 units.

Other than that its a pretty standard list.

Drop the diadem of power from your slann. You will be using all your power dice every turn so don't plan on saving any. Also drop the Scar veteran BSB and just make your slann the BSB (and general). this is a special rule for us LM and you should fully utilize it. A life slann in a unit of TG will be coldblooded, leadership 9, rerollable and stubborn. They won't run from anything and will be tough as nails with regen and toughness buffs from life lore.

Your Temple Guard unit can only have one magic banner, not two (you currently list the +1 CR and the D6 added charge range). Pick one and drop the other (though I suggest you get the flaming banner to combat any regenerating troops).

You can only have 2 salamander hunting packs (rare choice) you currently have 4. Combine them into two packs of 2 sallies each. Extra handlers optional if you have leftover pts.

I would say you need another saurus unit to buff up your battle line. Plus get some chameleon skinks (1-2 units of 5-7 skinks each) to harass your opponent.

Mmmm, those empire and dwarf armies would definitely have me taking some chameleon skinks, and probably some terradons as well. Chameleons are amazing at taking out empire cannons, and although I've had mixed success with terradons, they always draw a lot of attention away from other units.

Thanks alot for your quick reply. I did recalculate yesterday, unfortunately I don´t have the list in front of me atm, but I think I remember all changes. I did edit the first post, so we don´t spam the thread with several lists :)

Ohw, oke that make sense. So I put the Skink Priest on foot and replaces the engine of gods with an Ancient Stegadon. I really like the 2D6+1 Impact hits. But Engine of Gods, hmm that sounds amazing to me. Salamanders are now cut down to three. 2+1 (Two packs).
A pretty standard list you say. Hmm, we all want a really bad-ass list. I guess I learn to build them within a year :)

Check, check, check. 2x24 Saurus sounds like they will break and loose combat pretty easily? But life should help them alot I guess. Yes, chameleon skinks to harass. They sound very good to me. But what if the table is full of opponents at deployment, then i have to place them 12" infront of their battleline. I prefer flank if possible. Well gotta hide the well :)

Do you charge or shoot the cannons with chameleon skinks? I mean 5 cham = 10 poisoned attacks, it isn´t always you shoot good enough to kill them in one turn? But if you charge them, maybe you can hold them from firing in 1-2 turns?
Terradons really sound nice, ?Vanguard move? + flying cav, yes that should keep the cannons busy for at least one turn? And if they manage to reach behind enemy lines, they should harass as hell!
    Thanks once again!

An ancient stegadon taken as a character mount uses your heroes points allowance and not your rare allowance. Only an ancient stegadon on his own goes into the rare allowance. You should still be under the 25% heroes points but it's something to keep in mind.

So a Skink Chief who rides a stegadon counts both their points into Heroes?
Same goes with the skink priest with Engine of Gods?

Hmm, another thing that pops into my head is the skinks+kroxigors. Do they count as core or core + special?

    Correct.

Skink+Kroxigors count as core as the Kroxigors are an upgrade to the skink unit.

Oh, this makes the Army-building more intresting. I found it kinda hard to build a tournament list. I mean, a list vs several diffrent classes.. Hmm
But a 2400p list without a Slann i guess is a waste. So Slann got a spot.

I played a game with this list vs Dark Elf.. Uhm, I lost so hard, 200 - 2400.
Then I changed the list to a more melee-list and played vs High Elf. Won the game 2400 - 120.

Tell me if i´m wrong, but I find the Lizardmen army isn´t able to variate the army-list that much?

The tournament has now been played and here are the result.

    1. Dark elf
    2. Warrior of chaos
    3. Deamons of chaos
    4. Lizardmen (me)
    5. Orc and goblin
    6. Empire
    7. High elf
    8. Tomb king
    x. Dwarf
    x. Warrior of chaos

Warr of chaos+dwarf didn´t play the tournament because lack of time..

    My games vs:
    Dark elf - Loss
    Warrior of chaos - Loss
    Deamon of chaos - Win
    Orc and goblin - Draw
    Empire - Win
    High elf - Win
    Tomb kings - Win

We decided to play a play-off and increase the points to 3000 and make a new list. I feel tat I learned alot when playing vs all classes. Very good and fun :)

    1 vs 8
    3 vs 6

    4 vs 5
    2 vs 7

    :)
