Hi all, I am a new Lizardmen player and have got a couple of questions that I would like answering if that is possible. I am looking at running a double Slann list with Light & Death. At the moment my list is: Slaan – Know all Lore of Light (General) Slaan - +1 Dice, Lore of Death Scar Vet on Cold One – GW, Dragonhelm , Light Armour, Amulet of Itzl, Venom of the Firefly Frog Scar Vet on Cold One – Burning Blade, Charmed Shield, Dragonbane Gem, Other Trickster’s Shard Skink Priest – Level 1 Lore of Heavens, Cube of Darkness 24 Skinks – Musician, 3 Kroxigor 24 Skinks – Musician, 3 Kroxigor 20 Skinks – Musician 20 Skinks – Musician 10 Skink Skirmishers 10 Skink Skirmishers 10 Skink Skirmishers 3 Terradons 3 Terradons 3 Terradons Salamander Salamander Total 2400pts I was planning to put both the Slaans into the 20 man Skink units as bunkers, but the more I think about it the more I am tempted to make the Death Slaan Ethereal and run him solo and drop both the Skink units for some Temple Guard for the Light Slaan. Just to clarify, how does it work putting the Slaan into a unit of Skinks? Is it a good idea for a cheap bunker? I think if I do run an Ethereal Slaan it will be the Death one so he can get closer to the target’s with the short range death snipes. Would you put anything else on him to protect him? I am also worried that I have too much chaff and not enough combat punch with just 2 Skrox units. Would it be worth trying to find the points for a Saurus block to act as an Anvil, or if I use the Temple Guard bunker will they suffice for that role. Just worried about using the Temple Guard for that role as that would risk me losing the Slaan. One last thing is I am looking to try and fit in a BSB upgrade somewhere but not sure where to put it. The Light Slaan will be bunkered at the back so is probably the safest bet, or would you run it on a Scar Vet for +1 CR and to give them re-rolls in case they charge off. I was also thinking of putting on the Ethereal Death Slaan if I go down that route and if he does not have any equipment possibly giving Standard of Discipline for LD 10 Death Snipes but not sure about that one. Let us know what you think to my ideas and hopefully I may get a list sorted that I am completely happy with
Re: New Lizardmen Player looking for some advice on 2400pts I would drop the two skink cohorts and 2 skrox units for TG and a 1 or 2 kroxigor skrox unit (11 or 16 skinks) also NEVER take a skink bunker, for me unless I go ethereal or TG my slann gets killed early. I'd just throw em in a unit of 22 TG and have em both in there, also I'd run the scar vets together at this point level. GL
Re: New Lizardmen Player looking for some advice on 2400pts Cold Blooded + BSB re-roll = most reliable army in the game that doesn't lose the ability to flee tactically. So I suggest a battle standard. Just my $0.02.
Re: New Lizardmen Player looking for some advice on 2400pts the list looks fine, though I think your overdoing it on the chaff. I would have also liked to seen atleast 1 unit of saurus. I would drop the 2 big units of skinks and a unit of terradons and get a unit of saurus instead. Any particular reason for the low number of salamanders?
