8th Ed. New LM Player

    Hey All. I'm new to both WHFB and LM.

    Currently I have a Skaven army I'm building. I built a very successful WoC army (not that hard).

    AND NOW I'M READY FOR LM!

    The models are amazing and I love the lore so far.



    I need help with a list though.

    I have a battalion + a Salamander with Skinks.

    What would be an effective build? Saurus heavy? Skink heavy? A mix?

    If it helps, I don't want to think too much about tactics for now. I want to just learn the rules using a "Point and Click" army.

    I will primarily be playing against HE, VC, and Beastmen. Secondary battles might include Empire or Brets.

    Just messing around with Army Builder this is what I came up with... Subject to change.


    24 x Saurus Warriors FC

    24 x Saurus Warriors FC

    12 x Skink Skirmishers

    12 x Skink Skirmishers

    Skink Priest
    - Biting Blade
    - Dispel Scroll
    - Talisman of Protection

    Saurus Scar-Vet
    - Sword of Swift Slaying
    - Enchanted Shield
    - Seed of Rebirth

    Salamander Pack

    Salamander Pack

    This list will be for small point games like 1250ish.

    hmmm. I'd take the biting blade off the priest, maybe drop the skirmishers down to ten apiece, drop a saurus from the unit you're putting the vet. That gives you, 49 points to use? If you drop a Second saurus you can get a unit of five Chamo Skinks which are great for taking out those nasty warmachines early on, or those nasty big tough things.

    Aside from that, pretty solid list has a bit of everything (except cav, but everyone seems to hate on them now)

    i would say that you should make another build for the scar-vet because you need an anti hero character which scar-vets are great for either take gamblers armour gold sigil sword and bane head or in bigger battles were lords will be Included piranha blade and bane head 8 points more than before but i think its a lot more effective
    one better armour save and bane head and ward instead of regen and for saurus asf is not much better than I 10

    and for 1250 you can get:

    scar vet shield gamblers armour bane head

    skink priest scroll

    2x10 skinks

    25 saurus full com

    25 saurus full com

    5 chameleons

    5 chameleons

    single salamander

    single salamander

    1250

    and by the way never and i mean never take magic weapons on wizards!
