Does anyone know what the general thoughts are on this army nowadays? back before the latest book release I had considered building myself a Night Goblin Army and use a bunch of the various tricky little night goblin items to have some interesting and unique gaming. After a brief look through their new rules I see most if not all those types of items have been removed.

anyone know or have opinions on whether or not I should just sell off my spare parts or is there hope for the Night Goblins?

Most of my 8th edition games have been with playing Orcs and Goblins (as another person in gaming club chose Lizardmen army for campaign). And personally, they are VERY fun to play with. Just last night I played a 2500 all-goblin army against High Elves. One of the most fun games I've played.

Not sure which little tricky items that's missing you are referring to.. but wow.. the goblins have great impact hits, hidden troops like Fanatics, deadly Doom Diver, the new Mangler squigs, snotling pump wagon.. yeah. Normal goblins still have Nasty Stalkers too. Netters. From chariots to trolls, rock lobbas and squigs. There is just so much you can throw at your opponent.

Magical items for the most part in 8th has been trimmed down, but the spells on the other hand have been amplified. That's not saying that the magic items are worthless however.

Animosity still plays a big part in any Greenskin army. But it is what makes the army fun too. To be honest, Ive been playing animosity up to my opponents - meaning that no matter what they take, they cannot be fully prepared for what "might" happen on the battle field.

Im an active forum member on the O&G forum Da Warpath. Lots of good and crazy info there.

    Hope this helps a bit.

They're not a top tier army, and are vulnerable to low leadership, but as Cedric said they are a very fun army and can certainly be quite dangerous with the right stuff. They are very unpredictable, which makes them even more fun to play both as and against.
