Hey, well as you can see from the title I'm new to Lizards as an army, I've not played either as or against them before. I recently picked up a copy of the army book to give it a read and I've decided to try my hand at the amphibious legion. :meh:

This list is meant to be a fairly decent take all comers list which won't have too much trouble against most armies (obviously excepting insane things like Flesh Hound / Flamer spam).

    Old Blood - 430
    Carnosaur
    Burning Blade of Chotec
    Shield of the Mirrored Pool
    Blood Statuette of Spite

About as subtle as a brick this guy, I was hoping on the shield to protect him from magic and screening to protect him from shooting as Carnosaurs aren't Large Targets. Blood Statuette to (hopefully) take a wound or two off something squishy, like a lord lvl mage. I like the Burning Blade of Chotec for the enormous -AS and Flaming attacks.

    Skink Priest - 440
    Lvl 2
    Scroll
    Diadem of Power
    Engine of the Gods

Decent magic offence and defense with this guy, throwing ward saves all over the place to hopefully reduce casualties in the Saurus units. Diadem means he can hoard Dispell dice if I think I'm going to have lots of work to do in the enemies magic phase.

    Skink Priest - 150
    Lvl 2
    Scroll
    Rod of the Storm

Extra magic defense really, Rod of the Storm to burn more Dispel Dice of the enemy before I try and cast anything I really want to get off.

    Skink Skirmishers x10 - 70

Harrassing, poisoning, screening all the things that Skinks do best.

    Saurus x20 - 260
    Command
    Spears

    Saurus x20 - 260
    Command
    Spears

Big blocks of S4, T4, 2A, spear wielding nasties. Hope they can make it into combat thanks to the ward from the Engine of the Gods, if they can they should do fairly well against most things, dedicated combat nasties will cut them to ribbons though.

    Stegadon - 235

Big stompy monster to ruin someone's day, combined with the Engine of teh Gods steg this could be very intimidating for the opponent to face 2 stegs and a carnosaur.

    Salamanders x2 - 150

Not sure about Razordons vs. Salamanders at the moment, I'll probably try both and see which I prefer.

    Power Dice: 7 + 2 Bound
    Dispell Dice: 5 + 2 Scrolls

Right, all advice is very welcome I've not got any of the models yet so don't feel you have to take that into account. I'm really not sure if I've got enough magic defense here, only 5 dice + 2 scrolls and Diadem, definetly not really enough to go on the offensive much, I'll have to rely on my monsters and Saurus to win me the game.

So, all C&C appreciated. And thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Ed

its a good list. I would drop the champs in the units of saurus because it costs a lot for 1 extra attack. good list.

    hope this helps

First, can't post point costs. It's against forum policy and GW copyright and intelligence laws.

It's a good list but I wouldn't worry about the mirror shield if your screening your Carno anyways. Magic missles need line of sight, same as shooting. So the shield will go to waste. Instead consider the Enchanted shield for great armour and also consider the maiming shield for that extra attack.

With reguards to salamanders and razordons it's definately try both and find what you like. I've done likewise and found I prefered the razordons for general purpose. But I'm not adverse to taking the salamanders against horde armies.
